I booked a room through booking.com because my son was set to have surgery the following day and wanted to avoid having to wake him up at 3 am just to get to the hospital in time. His surgery was postponed due to pneumonia (day of check in) and I have tried canceling the night through booking.com. The back and forth communication between booking.com and this place is absurd. I called the hotel and explained what was going on and the front desk guy laughed at me when I said I need to cancel but it was through booking.com and that I would have to contact booking.com. I called booking.com and they called and the response I was told they received was, their manager is in a meeting and is supposed to respond to us once they're out of a meeting. This never happened. I have called and tried multiple times at this point with no help. The booking.com part isn't this place's fault, but the level of professionalism is lacking. I would avoid this place if at all possible.

This hotel might be in a great location but it is outdated and unkept. The entrance is welcoming but not past there. The staff was not friendly except for the woman who took care of the breakfast buffet. Our room was dark and not clean. We had an issue with our tub/shower that took hours resolve, you don't get fresh towels daily, there was a loveseat sleeper in our room that smelled of mold. This review sounds harsh but when you spend good money for a room expect more.

Before staying here please understand you’ll have to PAY to park here by a company Park Happy. I stayed there for two days and paid for my room but then I had to pay 85$ for parking for that 2 days! I am a 100% disabled veteran and can park downtown for free but not this lot EVEN renting a room! I contacted the parking lot company for refund with no vail, and well Hampton won’t entertain my concerns on it as well. I could understand if I was parking to have a good ol time but my brother was having heart surgery at Vanderbilt so I had no choice but to pay it! These companies are unpatriotic, rude and greedy..

Stay Away - Book Elsewhere! This is the worst Hampton Inn in the brand family system. The hotel is very run down, dirty, and smells. Furnishings, flooring, chairs, etc. are all badly worn out. Lobby is uncomfortably warm because not running the AC sufficiently or it is broken. The hotel is badly understaffed in all areas. Room was not ready at 3pm and only received a room at 430pm because I called Hilton corporate which intervened. Then the room they gave us smelled and was super warm 78 degrees despite thermostat set to 65 - obviously a broken AC for that room. We left immediately and switched to Homewood Suites across the street which is 1000 times better. And AMEX helped obtain a full refund from the Hampton Inn.

Parking is $35 per night!! $6 for 2 hours, $16 for 5 hours. The heavy set desk clerk with braids was mean mugging everybody. She didn't speak; just stared, just rude. Around 10 pm I wanted to take a shower - 1 washcloth, 1 towel. The issue is that my son needed to shower, too. Luckily, I pack towels and washcloths in case of inconveniences, because who wants to wait for towels and washcloths at 10 pm, when your son has an early morning hockey game? The fridge in our room kept our items cool, not cold. Breakfast is a joke. A stranger warned and complained about the lacking breakfast to me in the elevator; eggs, sausage, potatoes, cereal and bagels. No bacon, no biscuits and gravy, no yogurt. There wasn't enough to feed 20 people, let two hockey teams, their parents, siblings, and other guests. After paying $35 to park, one would think the breakfast would be superb and plentiful. This hotel deserves 0 stars. The only silver lining, is the Centennial Sportsplex is a 4-5 minute walk. I won't be staying at this hotel again.
