Overall we had an excellent stay at the Hampton Inn Downtown Capitol View. The room was clean, we were close to the event we came into town for, there were a couple of good places to eat in walking distance. The reason I am on here making this review however is the parking. When we arrived we parked in the Metropolis garage. We have a Metropolis account because we are regulars to downtown Nashville. I asked the front desk how that would be handled since they charge us for parking and the app was also trying to. She asked for our license plate number and said that would be handled. The morning we were leaving I looked in our Metropolis app to see we've been charged $84 on top of the $40 the hotel charged us. I asked the front desk and she said she had no idea we were going to have to contact Metropolis about that because they don't have any control over that. I really dislike having to reach out to the customer service department at Metropolis to get this handled and spend valuable time of my day dealing with something Hampton Inn should already have a plan in place for.

One Star – Extremely Disappointed From the moment we arrived at Hampton Inn Capitol View – Nashville, Tennessee, the experience was disappointing. The front desk clerk at check-in was less than welcoming — not friendly, not warm, just cold and uninterested. The next morning was even worse. The same front desk lady was extremely rude, unfriendly, and unhelpful. When we went down for breakfast, the waffle batter container was empty and both coffee containers were completely empty. I went to the front desk to politely let them know, and instead of addressing it, she told me I needed to go find the kitchen staff myself. I explained I hadn’t seen any kitchen staff, and she immediately became defensive and actually yelled at me to repeat what I said. She then walked past me into the kitchen shaking her head and saying, “This lady’s complaining there’s no coffee or waffles.” Complaining? It’s breakfast. At a hotel. With no coffee. Make it make sense. For the record, they had biscuits and gravy, link sausage, grits, and scones — but after asking the front desk and then asking kitchen staff three separate times to refill the coffee and waffle batter, we still struggled just to get basic breakfast items stocked. Checkout? Same rude attitude. Let’s also talk about parking — $40 a night. You pay $40 upon arrival and then get charged another $40 before checkout. A small bag of snack chips was $5. For the price of this hotel, the service should match. It ABSOLUTELY DID NOT!! We travel often and have had wonderful experiences at other Hampton Inns (Dickson, TN was FANTASTIC!!). Unfortunately, this location Hampton Inn Capital View was nowhere near that standard. Very unsatisfied. We will most likely never stay here again when we return to Nashville. If I could give a negative star on service I would ..the room itself was fine …

Stayed for 3 days. On the 2nd day power went out and the hotel was running on generators. My room had 1 light that worked, my heater stopped blowing warm air and was only blowing cold air. I tried to turn heater off and couldn't. The thermostat read 56 degrees at one point. Microwave beeped none stop and I couldn't unplug it and the stand it was on was to heavy to move. TV didn't work of course. Wifi when they got it back up really didn't work. I called about issues and no one came to look into it. Went down to lobby and waited in line to talk to I'm guessing manger. Manger told me they couldn't refund me money like they were doing for other guest because I book with Expedia but would wave the parking fee. When I checked out they said no charge you are good. Three days after being home, guess what? I got charged for the parking anyway. I've called and of course manager is never there and manger never returns my call when I asked. Nice hotel, but if you tell someone your gonna do something, then please do it.

I had a great stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville Downtown Cabell View. The hotel was very clean, the service was excellent, and the included breakfast was really good. I stayed two nights, and each morning the breakfast options were different, which I appreciated. The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful, especially on my last day when they held my luggage after checkout. A special thank you to Elina Myers, who was incredibly attentive, kind, and professional. She made a great impression and truly cares about the guests. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for three nights during the ice storm, along with many other fellow Nashvillians and a whole bunch of dogs. In spite of all the dogs, including ours, our suite was extremely quiet, and we slept great. The service was excellent, they offer decaf coffee, and the lobby was a beautiful place to wait out the storm. This would be a great place to stay if I were coming to Nashville for a visit. It’s got shops, services, and restaurants within walking distance, and it’s close to Broadway and Bridgestone. Thank you for a bright spot in a week of literal darkness!
