My wife and I stayed at Embassy Suites Vanderbilt for three nights during our first visit to Nashville. What ultimately drew us here were the complimentary downtown shuttle and free breakfast — and both delivered! The shuttle drivers were friendly, and breakfast was a couple of notches above the typical “hot hotel breakfast” (no waffle maker, but we’ll survive!).
There was some maintenance or renovation work happening during our stay, but the hotel was upfront about it, and it never impacted our comfort — no noise during the hours we were in the room. Another nice touch was the nightly happy hour with complimentary snacks and beverages.
A couple of things worth noting: while the bathrooms are spacious overall, the toilet area felt pretty tight. We’re not small people, but I imagine even someone of moderate build might find it a bit cramped. There is a handicap-accessible bathroom in the lobby, which could work in a pinch, though not exactly convenient. Also, our shower drained very slowly from the first use — to the point it overflowed onto the floor, and we had to use towels to prevent any damage.
Another minor inconvenience was that one of the elevators was out of service during our stay. The staff were accommodating and allowed guests to use the freight elevator if needed, but it still made things a bit less convenient.
We also noticed that the overall condition of the room reflected how heavily the hotel is used. The bed itself was lumpy and not particularly comfortable, and the pillows had the consistency of Swiss cheese — we had to fold them multiple times just to get enough support.
On the plus side, the location is great — within walking distance of several bars and restaurants. We didn’t try the hotel restaurant ourselves, but it looked nice and we heard no complaints.
Because the only real time we spent in the hotel was to sleep or use the bathroom, those factors weighed heavily in our overall experience. Between the tight toilet area, the slow-draining shower, and the less-than-comfortable bed and pillows, I’d give this stay a 3.5 out of 5. Not a bad experience by any means — just not quite enough for us to say we’d rush back next time we’re in Nashville.

We really liked this hotel and it being our 1st time to Nashville we didn’t realize how many stairs we’d be climbing at all the Broadway St. bars,so when the hotel only had 1 working elevator, it sucked more than just a little to wait for 10-15 mins for the elevator ,so we just took the stairs. I will say that the shuttle service was cool and so is Mr. Tony. The breakfast is hearty and delicious and all you need to start the day. Our room was good but the construction outside the window through the weekend didn’t exactly help after a night of drinking. All in all, I’d say this place was pretty good and will be much better once the 2nd elevator is fixed and the construction is complete.

I am a Hilton Honors member and have traveled a lot during my career. I had picked a room in the 11th floor for the view in the reviews. Upon check in at 4 the required time I was told the room isn’t ready yet. Going to my room I then saw the sign in the elevator about the roof repaired right above the 11th floor. Funny the desk person never mentioned this going on above our heads. Wanting to sleep in the morning, I went back down and requested a different room. The employee said good decision because all the building views were blocked any city view because of all the new construction. We went to our room on the 7th floor and found the room was a mess with trash and bedding in the floor. So back down to the front desk we went. We finally got a room on the 5th floor. I went to use the restroom and the toilet seat almost fell off the toilet! How housekeeping could have missed this is ridiculous. The parking garage which we were charged $37/day was filled with cigarette butts and trash along the walls. When I got home I received an email for a review, which I did. When asked if I would like to be contacted about my stay I said yes. Guess what…crickets no response.

Nice suites and nice breakfast. But reception staff not efficient. They have charged us for no show despite the fact we were in 2 suites for 3 nights! Till today chasing as they promised to credit but they did not and unfortunately they do not answer our emails. Disappointing!
Check your bills!
Will not come again definitely.

I’ll start off with I don’t like to leave reviews just to complain but at the end of the day, we don’t think this hotel embodies what every other Embassy Suites offers.
Sadly the beds are like sleeping on the ground and the pillows are even worse, so bring a pillow if you’re able. Unfortunately the sleep here is not restful at all and you’ll likely wake up very sore the next day.
The rooms themselves are fine and clean, although it’s comical to see a lamp in the living room area busted in 4 places and glued back together hahah.
We specifically booked this hotel for the hot tub which is listed and pictured as an available amenity on Hiltons website as well as third party websites. There is NO more hot tub going forward here we’re told.
I will say the shuttle giving rides within a 2 mile radius is an amazing help and convenience, also the free breakfast bar is fantastic!!!
Overall I WOULD NOT stay at this Embassy location again. I would absolutely pay more for most any other hotel. If you’ve ever stayed at an Embassy Suites, I’m sure you’d agree this is not at all what you’d come to expect from this chain. Every other Embassy has been incredible in my experiences.
