Nice new hotel with well-appointed rooms and a short walk to the Orpheum Theatre, Beale St., Civil Rights Museum. The full size refrigerator and sink are a definite plus. I did however have a puzzling interaction with the front desk that left me unable to rate this property five stars.
Due to my work schedule, I left my room later most days. Flexible housekeeping is always a plus. Rooms here are cleaned every other day. When it was my day for cleaning, knowing that my sign was up most of the morning, I called down to ask them to stop by. My interaction:
Man: They probably already passed by your room.
Me: I figured so, but there are still carts out in the hall, so could they just backtrack and do my room?
Man: I’ll see what I can do.
Me: I’m also out of Kleenexes. Could they at least drop some off?
Man: I’ll see what I can do.
I made sure my DND sign was off and left for the day. When I returned, no housekeeping and no Kleenex.
In general, you should do everything possible to accommodate a guest’s request and apologize if it’s not possible.
Perhaps the guy was new and hadn’t yet been trained in customer service. Or maybe that’s the culture at this hotel.
Don’t pass this place up because of this. It’s a decent hotel. Just know that if you have a need or a request, you won’t get a “yes sir/ma’am” like you would at a branded Hilton.

This property is very new. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. The only negative was that they charged me $40 for valet parking ( small free self parking lot was full) and it took them 20 minutes to get my car for me when we were ready to leave the next morning. The valet driver was not bringing other people there automobiles. Not sure why this took so long.

Used the digital key and it refused to work in one of the elevators. Other than that, great location, great service, and very clean room.
