Upon check-in, we immediately noticed an extremely loud humming noise coming from what we initially thought was the fridge. I messaged the front desk to ask if it was normal (see screenshot), and after a while with no response was then told it was just the sound the fridge makes while running. We knew we would never be able to sleep with the noise and felt certain something seemed off, they eventually sent someone to check it out. He immediately confirmed it was actually an issue with the water pump, said he would grab the tools and come back to fix it. We let him know we were on our way out to dinner and he was welcome to take care of it in the meantime.
We returned about three hours later, around 10 PM, to find the loud humming still very much there — and the room left in disarray, with a ladder and tools left behind (see photo). Nothing had been resolved.
We went down to the front desk to ask what happened, and were told that he “forgot” and left the ladder in our room. Instead of apologizing, they simply asked what we wanted to do — if we wanted to wait for them to fix it now. At that point, we requested a different room given the time of night and that we had to be up early for our friend’s wedding activities. There was still no apology or acknowledgement of the inconvenience. They simply gave us the key to an identical room down the hall. We then had to repack everything and move all of our belongings ourselves late at night.
Overall, very disappointing service, poor communication, and a lack of basic courtesy — especially for a Hilton-branded property.
I've stayed at this hotel many times and in the past my only complaint was the hair products and soaps had way too strong of a charcoal scent. They've changed over to a much more pleasant line of products now. Rooms are always clean and in great shape the staff is friendly and attentive.

Affordable Luxury in Downtown Memphis.
I was in Memphis for one of my Food adventures and decided to try The Canopy near Beale Street. At the time of my booking, the hotel was less than two hundred dollars per night, even with the taxes and charges. The hotel is modern and has much to offer. The lobby and ground floor have a restaurant, a bar, and there is a coffee shop just outside the expansive hotel lobby. The hotel has all of the amenities that you would want, such as a state-of-the-art fitness center with modern fitness and cardio equipment.
The rooms are ergonomically laid out and seem bigger than they actually are. The beds are very comfortable, and my king suite came with a long hallway behind the bedroom wall that had a bench, a closet, and a pull-out refrigerator, all in the corridor to the spa-like bathroom. The bathroom was spacious and clean and had an ample supply of towels and toiletries. The only issue I had was that the floor was dirty just beneath the window, and there was some debris on my carpet and floor. I called the front desk, and while I was out and about on Beale Street, housekeeping came and immaculately cleaned not just my floor and carpet but the whole room.
One nuance of the hotel that might affect some guests is that Charlie Rendezvous Charcoal Ribs, an iconic Memphis rib spot, is right next door to the hotel. The smoke from the restaurant permeates through the hotel. If you like ribs and the smell of charcoal, you will be fine. If you don't, then be aware that the building's ventilation picks up the smoke and smells from next door.

Our stay at the Canopy by Hilton in Memphis was fantastic! The hotel has a modern, stylish feel while still being warm and welcoming. The location is perfect — right in the heart of downtown and just a short walk from Beale Street, the riverfront, and plenty of great restaurants and shops.
The staff were friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with great city views. The on-site restaurant and bar were also excellent — a great spot to relax and grab a bite after exploring Memphis.
Overall, the Canopy is an ideal choice for anyone visiting Memphis. Great service, great atmosphere, and an unbeatable location!

Check in was pleasant and the property is nice. The room was well appointed but little things were missed- example- empty body wash container in shower.
The restaurant had great staff. The food was average but had a premium price tag.
Overall, I would have expected more for the price point. Not bad but not blown away.
Would I return? Yes
Also- $50 to have your car parked. I never mind paying for valet, but it was high considering I had to search for someone to take my car.
