I stayed on a Monday and it was probably entirely my fault for choosing a hotel next to college campus, but i swear the noise level in and around that hotel was insane all the way until 2am.

After reading some of the other reviews I feel lucky with my stay here. My room was spacious and clean, but there were stains on the bed (I always pull up the sheets to check for bed bugs- which my room had none)- luckily there were two beds so I just took the other. I also had a hard time acquiring soap. Decor was very cute and it was walking distance to the university, which was convenient.

Update- the hotel called and refunded my stay. Thank you !!! GRADUATE- BED BUGS AND POOR CORRECTIVE ACTION I was so excited to stay at The Graduate. The location was perfect — close to both my work and my daughter’s school. When I arrived, I was greeted by the valet, which turned out to be a mandatory $40 charge (he was kind, though). Check-in at the front desk went smoothly, and I dropped my things in the room before heading out to dinner with my daughter. When we returned around 8 p.m., I parked in the same spot the valet had used earlier — no big deal. Later that night, around midnight, I started getting a headache and decided to shower before bed. As I was getting comfortable and watching TV, I noticed something on the bed. I grabbed my flashlight to get a closer look — and there it was… a bed bug 🐛. Absolutely disgusting. I went down to the front desk, which already had a line of guests waiting. When I got to the front, I quietly asked to speak privately and showed the clerk the video evidence. He apologized and moved me to another room. I went upstairs with a cart to gather my things and headed to the new room a floor below. I checked that room carefully before unpacking — and to my shock, there were two more bed bugs on the pillow, right in plain sight. Back down to the front desk I went, again showing the video. The clerk offered to take $50 off and move me to yet another room. It was nearly 2 a.m. at this point. I reluctantly accepted, checked the third room top to bottom, and didn’t see any bugs. I barely slept. The next morning, I checked out — no apology, no manager interaction, nothing. I left completely disgusted. Now I have to deal with the aftermath: disinfecting luggage, car washes, dry cleaning, and hoping I didn’t bring any of these pests home. This experience was stressful, unsanitary, and completely unacceptable for any hotel — especially one that prides itself on charm and hospitality. I won’t be back.

No showers available. This is my third stay at The Graduate, a Hilton property. During the entire weekend, the boiler was having issues which translated to NO SHOWERS for the entire stay. I was brought to UTK to lead a workshop, and personal hygiene is crucial to professionalism. Showers are the primary way to prepare for the day or unwind after a long day of leading wonderfully engaging learning. Leadership of the hotel has not reached out. The poor front desk staff offered me a complimentary breakfast, which is not helpful because I don't eat breakfast, and that offer is not comparable to offset a primary reason people stay at hotels. If you are coming to town, I encourage you to confirm the boiler is working. There are mini fridges in the intimately sized rooms and the style is kitchy. Update: Leadership reached out to offer an amenable reparation for the disappointing stay. It's not always the bad experience that is most important, but how people make it up to you that matters.
