  We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, Hurricane Mills, on a trip from Virginia to Austin, TX. The hotel is off of the road, so it is very quiet. The hotel was very clean with a nice lobby and snack/breakfast room with plenty of seating. Every staff member whom we met was extremely nice and helpful. Our room was basic, but nice with a small fridge (which also had a freezer compartment, which is great if you need to refreeze cooler ice packs), and a coffeemaker with pods. It was also very clean. The bedside lamps had a USB charging port, which made it easy to charge our cell phones and battery packs. The bathroom was a good size with a large tiled bathtub/shower combination, and a lighted mirror, which was really nice. The bed was very comfortable, and IHG hotels always have four pillows on each bed--two that are firm and foam, and two that are soft, feather-down pillows, which gives you a choice as to which you prefer. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. There were pancakes that you could make, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, biscuits and gravy (as good as our friend from TN used to make for us for breakfast), bagels & English muffins, muffins, yogurt & toppings, and oatmeal with toppings. There is a great restaurant, the Log Cabin, nearby, which offers homecooking, southern food. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

  We were driving for hours and night fell before we'd reached our next stop. This hotel was spectacular in location, price, service, and quality. It was exactly the place we needed to recharge for the next day. Everything was very clean, nice, and organized and so well equipped. I highly recommend it and will definitely keep it in mind if I ever need to stay in the area.

  My co worker Richard the Hippo, 🦛 and I always stay at this hotel when coming to this area for work. Everyone here is so nice, the only reason it gets a four star instead of five is that the rooms could be a little cleaner. The issue seems to stem from high traffic rather than neglect, although a little more vacuuming would be appreciated. With that said, this is a highly trafficked Holiday Inn due to its location by the interstate. Richard says he can only imagine it takes a lot of upkeep to do what they do. This is one of our favorite IHG due to the staff here. Overall, it’s clean and usually quiet. I will say it does have top-tier friendly staff among IHGs. Ya know when we are strung out from working away from home what means the most are a clean room, and a friendly face. 5/5 firm pillows. Happy Richard 🦛 🛏️
