✨ A warm welcome for weary travelers! ✨
My husband, 5 month old baby, dachshund, and I were planning to embark on our long return home after a week of holiday festivities with family several states away. My husband wanted me to book a hotel for the evening at our halfway point where we planned to simply lay our heads down for a few hours before continuing our drive home. Of course, no one wants to pay high nightly rates for a hotel when simply spending a few hours there, so I searched Google Maps for a place with affordable rates and good reviews. That’s when I stumbled upon this lovely place! The rate ($103 after fees/taxes) was affordable given the amenities provided: a full gym, small convenience store, free coffee/tea/hot chocolate 24/7, lovely staff members, and more. Prior to our arrival, I realized I needed two AA batteries, so I called the front desk to see if they had any for purchase at their convenience store. The receptionist who answered was very kind and took the time to search for some and even asked her manager since she was new instead of simply saying, “no, sorry!” The manager informed her that they did not have any for sale but that they would be happy to just give me the two I needed for free from behind the front desk! This was incredibly kind and appreciated, and anyone with a young baby knows how tough it can be to make an extra pit stop, especially after hours of being in a car seat! Once we arrived, check-in was a breeze, and when I asked about the batteries, the man (maybe the manager) behind the desk realized the batteries they had were actually AAA. He was apologetic, and I told him it was no worries and that we could go to the store instead. While my husband was unloading the car, the man came out to give him some AA batteries that he was able to scrounge up from somewhere. Once again, how kind! He did not have to go out of his way for us the way he did. When we finally got to our room, we were pleased the see a very clean room with a dinette (cooktop, dishwasher, sink, refrigerator) stocked with all the essentials (plates, cups, bowls, soap, paper towels, silverware, etc). The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the bathroom was exceptionally clean. Check-out for us was super early (3 am) due to our desire to get back on the road, and the receptionist at the front desk was super friendly, and she made check-out just as quick and easy as our check-in experience. We took advantage of the free coffee, she wished us safe travels home, and we were on our way. Overall, this hotel was a wonderful choice, and we would definitely stay here again! Bonus points: The hotel was pet friendly with a very affordable fee ($25 per night) compared to others I reviewed ($50+).
