Last minute, we decided to spend one evening in Gatlinburg after 30 years absence. We visited the town often in the 80's and 90's, but not since then. This hotel is "new" to us. We arrived late and left after breakfast. We got a great room with a fireplace, but did not use it. Our view of the mountains the next morning was stunningly beautiful-even though we were at the back of the hotel overlooking the parking lot. No complaints there. The lobby is inviting and comfortable on a cold, rainy November evening. Morning breakfast looks great, but we decided to visit our old haunt, the pancake house. The hotel is within walking distance of most everything in Gatlinburg. Pet fee was $75. With the crushing traffic and crowds now in Gatlinburg, it is likely we will never return, but this hotel was a welcome "port in the storm" after driving 1,500+ miles on a cold and rainy November evening.

The room was decent although there was no working fan in the bathroom. Bed was rock hard so we ended up leaving a day early. Never got the refund for the xtra day as promised. We have never paid so much for a room just to be nickel and dimed. They charge to PARK at their own facility. $15 a day. And NO breakfast is included. Just coffee. I’ve been to places far cheaper and got a very nice breakfast. The buffet was ok for $12 a person. We won’t return.

We have been staying at this location for the last 7 years or so when visiting Gatlinburg area. (Usually 1 - 2 times a year....this year was 3 times) Never have we had to pay to park at this location, but for some reason they charged us $15.00 a day plus tax. When you go to make the reservation it states "Free Self Parking". We have always enjoyed staying here and the front desk folks are very nice, but this last year we have noticed a decline with our rooms. Between the parking costs now and the "pet friendly" atmosphere we will not be booking with them again. We are animal lovers and understand people may travel with a service pet, but to be kept up at night with a small dog barking and early in the morning, we are done. Yes, I mentioned it to the front desk but all they said was "we are pet friendly ". I also questioned the parking costs, but nothing was done. Just a heads up if you are considering staying here...maybe they should look into booking "pet friendly" rooms on certain floors only to help with noise.
