A spectacular view to remember....was horrible! This has been the worst experience of my 25+ years of my career and travel. I have worked in 3 Fortune 1000 companies. I did international travel; this would have ended my career if this was for work. I booked a small group of 14 Christian women for a retreat. I had contacted the service department approx 13-16 times prior to leaving, making sure what the cabin had, what we needed, address and getting there, I was told that the cabin would be in an excluded area in within the Sevierville area, which is exactly what I wanted and requested. Upon arriving, we found out it was in Gatlinburg right next to a two other properties, one whom took our parking and another we were kept up till 5am with partying the first night and had to call the police on the 2nd night. I also requested a physical address of where the property was since I did express check in and was told I had to go to the office and use there written directions because google would not get me there. I called twice to verify they couldn't give me the address. Once there at the office I was told I did not need to come there and was given a physical address. We drove to that address and couldn't find the property, we called Chris at the office and was given the correct address, once at the property we found 2 bears outside the cabin and once we felt safe we ran to the door to find the door code given did not work. As all of the women stood at the door waiting to get in we noticed lights on in the cabin, tv's on, vacuum cleaners in the middle of the floor, we actually thought someone may be in the cabin. We stayed on the phone with Chris while we checked the cabin. We had 1 roll of toilet paper for 5 bathrooms, we found that some beds were not made, 1 missing a comforter, we had only 10 bath towels and 10 wash clothes for 14 Women, the house was so dirty. (Solo cups on the balcony, popcorn bags on the floor, slim jim boxes under the end tables, none of the floors vacuumed, dust on lamp shades and tables, broken lamps, no batteries or backs on remote controls, no instructions on how to use the TV's, stained pool table with burn marks, air hockey table had hole in it, gas grill had no gas and didn't work, water damage on the windows, tape on the floor where carpets had been taped down that were filthy, bugs everywhere (more than 1 type) and last the hot tub was full of film and was slimy.) When it came to cooking, it was nearly impossible, we pulled out a pan to fry hamburgers and it was full of grease, the coffee cups were stuck to the cabinets because they were dirty. There were no coffee filters, no dish soap, 3 dishwasher cleaners, with one dish cloth, and one dry cloth, no scrubbers and only 1 trash bag. Water was on the floor when we got there and there was no mop. They truly set you up for failure! The couch cushions didn't fit properly so all of them stuck-up and all the furniture and decor were from the 1980's. The bunk beds were so tight that if a larger person tried to fit, it wouldn't happen and if one person moved it felt like the beds would collapse, I recommend you do not use them!!
To say the least we are mortified by the experience and have requested a full refund. Note that you cannot even say you're going to contact an attorney as they will completely stop talking to you and you have to have an attorney in the Tennessee area, and no one will take you because they are overwhelmed by cases. We were offered a refund of the cleaning fee of $180. and we paid over $2000 for this cabin for 2 nights! We also brought 5lbs of hamburger that went bad because we couldn't prepare it, we lost 5 dozen eggs because we couldn't prepare that either. We couldn't even put the trash in the trash receptacles because they were gated off, when we asked the maintenance man why, he stated that the cement holding them up was dangerous and couldn't be walked on. Same cement held up the house. And last, none of the items that were needed arrived until after 5pm on Saturday night, we left Sunday am
UNBELIEVABLE DEVASTATION! RENTER BEWARE!
Panic and anger only begin to describe my experience with Cabins USA! I would give less than a one-star rating, but that's not possible.
This review is not about the cabin "Run to the Hills" that I reserved, but the customer service and decency that I did NOT receive from CABINS USA!
My reservation was CANCELED by Cabins USA 20 minutes before I was able to access the cabin! 20 MINUTES!
Toriano from Cabins USA had the audacity to call me at 3:40 p.m. on THE DAY of my check-in (November 6, 2025) to tell me my cabin was not available due to an ONGOING road repair, making the cabin inaccessible. He offered me the only other "comparable" cabin that they had available (that was a joke - it wasn't comparable AT ALL!) or a full refund.
His excuse for the cancelation: "The city has been making repairs on the road and has now closed it making it impassable. We were notified four days ago, and the updates for opening keep changing. The current renters are "stuck" at the cabin and cannot leave." He was continuing to call the city to get updates, as they kept promising him the road would be open by certain times, but then delayed.
FOUR DAYS PRIOR to my arrival date and NO ONE from this company thought to contact me then to make me aware that there could be a potential problem??? Instead, they waited until the DAY OF MY ARRIVAL to tell me!!
I drove to the Cabins USA location at 409 Collier Dr., Sevierville, TN at 4:15 p.m. to see if I could, at the least, use one of their computers or their Wi-Fi to search for an alternate cabin rental. Of course, they denied my request, but it just so happened that this was the location that Toriano worked at. We spoke with him in person, and he said that he was now given a time of 6 p.m. that the road should be open. They then would need to have a cleaning crew on standby to clean the cabin before new renters (my party) could stay. He then said he would call me to give me an update after speaking to the city.
After leaving this Cabins USA location, I used my phone to search for an alternate cabin to rent "just in case" the road to Run to the Hills was still inaccessible. I called Cabins USA at 6:03 p.m. (as I had not received the promised call from Toriano) and was told that he wasn't available as he himself "was out checking to see if the road was passable" and they would let me know the status when he returned to the office. At 6:26 p.m., I still had not received a call from Toriano and was done playing their game and requested a full refund, which I did receive.
With the devastation I felt and the level of non-professionalism I received from this company, I would highly recommend you "RUN TO THE HILLS" and reserve your cabin from a different company!
Mishaps can happen but this fiasco was completely unacceptable!!
I did end up reserving a cabin with Summit Cabin Rentals. Debi came to our rescue with a gorgeous cabin that had stunning mountain views! Summit Cabin Rentals gets a 5-Star rating from me!
