Bait and switch. For the second time. Shame on me.
I have been doing a job near here off and on for several months. I needed a motel room for a couple of nights and I often stay in IGH properties for work. I was downgraded to a Gold Elite member this year but I still stay at Holiday Inn's a lot.
Last week I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Kodak TN and was very pleased. But checking on the IHG app I saw that only double queen rooms were available there for the couple of nights I was staying. I saw that a King room which I greatly prefer was available at the Dandridge Holiday Inn Express.
So, I booked a King room here. I check in, get to my room, and it's a double queen. No! And what makes it worse is late last year this same thing happened. The old bait and switch gimmick. Luckily the nice lady at the desk called the Hampton Inn across the street and got me a King room there.
Not tonight. some event was filling up all the hotels.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Would anyone think I would ever reserve a King room at this hotel again and end up being stuck with a double queen? I detest double queen rooms.
Not that IHG cares business travellers that stay many nights being treated like this. And at this property twice.
Never again!

Room and property was nice and clean. I accidentally left my apple air pods so I called the motel within an hour. The front desk lady said she had found them and would gladly mail them to me. They never arrived. Forgetting them was my fault, her lying was her fault.

I booked a king room.
With no notification at all (even upon check-in), I walked into a 2 queen room.
They are knowingly booking rooms and taking money they can't accommodate.
I called the front desk who informed me they had flooding a few weeks back and lost all their king rooms. Whatever that means.
It is still available to book king rooms directly through the IHG app, obviously, since I just made the reservation yesterday.
That means hotel management failed to correctly modify the available inventory. Clearly it is intentional and without transparency to continue to take money for rooms they can't provide.
If they had no control over the availability (which they do), they would at least ethically be contacting to notify guests. Even if a guest is somehow unreachable, FOR SURE they should be told before walking into the room. No effort at all, but a money grab.

Hi Danbridge Holiday Inn Express,
I checked in Friday night; exhausted with many responsibilities remaining to execute. The kind, accommodating lady at the front desk,, was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely professional. She got me checked in was empathetic and assisted me with mailing a package.. Gave me a great room on the first floor was to exhausted to walk far. Many miles and business crammed into multiple states and in only 4 days.
Her relief came and she stayed to finish the mailing of the products. I tried to tip her she refused. Went to my room clean and beds well I drilled I was so tired and the beds so good! In morning greeted with many hello's good mornings and other niceties. Good breakfast.
Truly a remarkable culture in a drive through tow. WONDERFUL CULTURE!!!
Thank you!
Kindest regards,
Burt

While the staff is nice this place is annoying as heck!!!!
1. I got a suite online their website and instead of calling me and telling me they didn't have one due to a pipe bursting last week they just moved me into a double green, while it was fine, I was looking forward to sitting on a chair or couch and watching TV, now in my bed.. I let it slide cause pipes happen..
2. Then the first room smelled of cigarettes and finally the second room was ok, basic but fine.
3. I wanted to do laundry but nooooo, they don't have laundry detegent for you to buy at the front desk,no close stores and it was snowing so who wants to drive 15-20 minutes back to Walmart to get laundry detergent! You also need coins which they don't have. The guy helping at the front desk was nice and luckily found about 6$ worth. I had to ghetto shampoo my clothes but at least I had clean clothes..
The shower drains slower than molasses I the winter so a shower means almost flooding the bathroom and at 11pm I didn't care of it flooded the bathroom, I wants a shower and bed!
4. If you wanted snacks, or food to heat up or any type of anything forget it, u have a vending machine of candy and water/ soda machine but those take coins only and cash (who carrys that around now a days!)... they had a small store but it was cheese its and water and like the pure life brand
So after this all I will not be staying another night here, I'll find another hotel even if I have to drive to Knoxville to get a better hotel.
