Instead of booking online, I phoned so I could book a pet friendly room. I would be travelling 8 hours for a wedding. Although the wedding rooms were already booked, I was told that there would be a note on my reservation about the wedding, because maybe they would still give a special rate. It was a nice gesture, and not something I was expecting. When we got to town, we came early to check about the possibility of an early check in. I was never asked for my booking confirmation number. I was told though, there was a different room than ours ready, and when I asked if it was pet friendly he said no. He then got the guest services manager Dakota, and she was nothing short of rude. She proceeded to tell us that there was nothing on file about needing a pet friendly room, was quick to say that there was no way I would get a special rate for the wedding, and I could not have my dog in my room while at the wedding. I asked her why I was not told that when I called to book the room, and she said the person I booked through didn’t know their policies but that is the rule at every hotel. I asked her why it’s not stated on the website, and she said it is. Please, I still cannot find this rule anywhere on your website or in your terms of use, I would love to see where it’s stated. My dog is a senior, and I have had plenty of pet rooms over the years and this was the first time this has ever come up. Dakota was asking me names of the hotels I have stayed at with my dog, trying to make me look dumb or like a liar, and said she couldn’t promise a pet room. We left so we could find a place to keep my dog, and find a place we could get ready for the wedding. I called back later, asking again about the pet room, because I needed to know if I would have to find overnight accommodations for her or not. The lady when I called was very nice, actually asked for my confirmation number, and told me I would have a pet room when we returned to check in (I don’t believe my reservation nor notes were actually looked at earlier). I can say that after my dealings with the manager of guest services, Dakota, I will never choose Holiday Inn again. Every other guest services agent was great, however I cannot believe that someone so rude could be the face of your hotel.

RUDE front desk worker. She said the pet friendly room means you can't leave your pet alone in the room, not even to go for your complimentary breakfast. Room was booked way in advance for a wedding but we were told not in time for the wedding rate.
