We stayed at this hotel to celebrate my children’s birthdays and rented the penthouse, which was absolutely lovely as expected. The suite itself met our expectations and provided a beautiful space for the occasion.
Unfortunately, the service experience did not quite match the quality of the accommodations. The day before arrival, I contacted the front desk to ask if they could arrange a small special touch for my eldest’s 18th birthday and my youngest’s 16th. I wasn’t requesting anything elaborate—just a thoughtful gesture to help make the stay more memorable. I was told by the front desk that nothing could be done and was transferred to the housekeeping manager. I reached voicemail and never received a callback.
Upon check-in, the front desk agent was not particularly welcoming. A warm and pleasant greeting can make such a difference, especially when celebrating special milestones.
Additionally, I borrowed a pair of scissors while decorating the room before our guests arrived. I forgot to return them at checkout and left them in the kitchen sink. The following day, I received a voicemail from Ann L. at the front desk asking if I had returned them. When I spoke with her and explained that I had left them in the suite, she proceeded to lecture me about returning items to the front desk next time. Considering the cost of renting the penthouse, I found it unnecessary to receive a follow-up call and reprimand over a pair of scissors. It may have been more appropriate to first confirm whether the item was still in the room. Had it been missing, I would have gladly replaced it.
Overall, while the penthouse itself was beautiful and perfect for the celebration, the lack of personal touch and the way certain matters were handled detracted from what could have been a truly exceptional experience.

Parkade was under repair so it was annoying, but temporary. My biggest complaint, as a business traveler, is the poor/spotty wifi. I count on a good and stable connection and it was anything but. I actually ended up leaving the hotel and finding another location to work. It used to be better, as I recall, but it has gone downhill.

We stayed here for a conference we checked in and said we were a no show. It was a fight to even get the room. When we went to go to bed we could not plug in a cpap machine because the plugs were so worn out it would not stay in safely and they arched when it came lose so we called the front desk they came and tried it and bent the prongs on my charger and wreaked it. They did not offer to replace it. Then they thought a power bar would work and it just turned on and off still was not the solution. We pulled the fire hazard power bar out from behind the Bed and pulled out a brick for a light and it had exsposed wires and inside. The front did not even offer a new room. The people at the front desk an extremely rude and don’t care about the safety of their guests. Don’t stay here if you don’t want to get electrocuted.

My review tonight is specifically about The Hub. Mandi (bartender and server extraordinaire). I have many options for hotel accommodations in Saskatoon, however, the customer service and genuine human interest shown by Mandi will keep me coming back. Another delightful meal and wine, but an incredible evening of conversation made my day. Sadly, her coworker called in sick so she was left to manage the restaurant, the bar, and the room service. Never complaining and never missing a beat. Stop by and see Mandi!

Great stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown Saskatoon! The rooms are very nice and clean, and the overall ambience of the hotel is pleasant. The staff were very cooperative, especially the reception team. I initially booked for one night and then extended for a second night, and even though the hotel was full, they helped me keep the same room — really appreciated that.
Car parking facilities are also a nice bonus.
The only downside for me was that breakfast is not included and has to be paid for separately. Also, the restaurant staff during breakfast didn’t feel as welcoming or cooperative as the hotel staff.
Overall, a very good stay and I would definitely recommend it.
