Though I guess it's okay as far as rooms and service but I just spent over 500 dollars for a room for myself and my 70yr old mother so that I can get my surgery done on Tuesday. 125 dollars a night left me with no money for food hardly. You'd think they would have a breakfast like a 65 dollar room at a super 8 or something. I don't know what to do I had things planned different and assumed so I'll give my mom my portion of food mostly the next few days. But even being a hotel member all they have is an expensive restaurant. Expensive like 12oz rib eye 42.00,eight onion rings for 10.00, five chicken strips for 13.00. tv is maybe a 25 inch from I wanna say maybe ten yrs ago it looks like after my stay I do not think I'm going to come back. I'd much rather pay for a low range stay even taking chances of less clean and more of a chance for bed bugs or something.

I accidentally left a neck pillow there (we had to go there with my three young kids in the middle of the night due to a bad experience while camping) and the next morning was a little chaotic and I ended up leaving something behind. We called them later that day and they said they would look into it. So we called again the next day because we had someone that was coming through town that could pick it up for us and they said they didn't have it. I get frequent migraines and that neck pillow helps me tremendously, it isn't just a random pillow. I know that it was in the room, I slept with it that night and we don't have it. I don't understand why they say they don't have it, it is very frustrating, sometimes people accidentally leave things behind and they should be able to get them back. We had someone that could stop and pick it up, it wouldn't of even been an inconvenience for them. I am very disappointed.

This hotel was a major disappointment from start to finish. The property is in extremely poor condition and far from what you would expect from an expensive Holiday Inn.
The cleanliness was unacceptable. The rooms were not clean with stains visible on the carpets, ceilings, furniture and even the bedding. The bathrooms were so bad, the shower head has more water pressure coming out of the side from a leak. The beds themselves were very uncomfortable and to make matters worse, the rooms reeked of smoke despite being labeled as “non smoking.” It was impossible to relax in a room that smelled that strongly.
The on site restaurant was equally terrible. The food was so poorly prepared that it was barely edible, easily some of the worst I’ve ever had at a hotel restaurant.
Another major issue was staffing. During our stay, there appeared to be only a couple of employees running the entire property or maybe not cause the only person we saw was at the front desk. Debbie, the front desk agent, was the one bright spot. She was incredibly kind, professional and doing her absolute best to help everyone despite being completely overwhelmed. She deserves a huge recognition but one person cannot possibly run a full hotel. There was no maintenance staff on duty and one guest even mentioned that he had to fix a problem in his own room because no one was available. That is completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point.
Overall, this property is run down, dirty and extremely poorly managed. It does not live up to the price point or maybe even health standards. I do not recommend staying here. For the price they charge, you will be much better off booking literally anywhere else in Spearfish.
