What a really nice and clean place to stay. The staff was awesome, the rooms were super clean. The breakfast bar was awesome, someone was always checking to make sure the food didn't run out. The next time we come to Brookings, that's where we are going to stay.

The absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I am in the aviation industry so I have stayed at plenty of hotels. STAY AWAY. I believe someone at this property attempted to steal high value items that they offered to lock up for me.
Our stay was for a hockey tournament and I was never told there was a no hockey stick policy. So the hotel offered to lock them up in the housekeeping closet overnight. In the morning the hotel staff searched for 20 minutes and could not find the sticks anywhere. Claimed they looked in every closet & there was no communication from previous day staff of sticks being held.
After stating I was going to report the loss, the staff magically found them in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT closet than I had witnessed them being placed in. The hotel did nothing to make it right & management has been unresponsive. The unresponsiveness is not surprising because the entire staff had attitude with guests and made it clear they did not want hockey kids in the hotel. Please take into consideration the previous review of management doing absolutely nothing to solve a problem.

There was no disclosure or notice that the pool has been closed for an extended period of time. We specifically booked this property in advance for use of the pool and paid a significant amount more than we would have elsewhere for that reason. This is very disappointing. Staff was very kind about issue & it is out of their control. However, this should be something disclosed at booking. I want to give a heads up to all the families booking here. Call before you book.

I regret having to post this but I have no choice. I stayed two nights 9-26 and 9-27 at the Brookings location as a guest of SDSU for my daughter’s induction into the SDSU Sports Hall of Fame. Upon checking in I was asked to provide my credit card for incidentals which I gladly did. Immediately I was charged $5.00 and questioned the charge. I was told upon checkout my card would receive a credit. That’s okay but later that night I was charged another charge for $225.22. When I questioned the staff they said it was a mistake because the room was coded that the university was paying for it but there was nothing they could do. They gave me the card for the general manager and I have sent 4 emails to her and all have been ignored so apparently no one in this organization is willing to fix this problem. I have a granddaughter attending SDSU currently so I get to Brookings a few times yearly but not to excited to stay at this hotel again. Dennis Archer
