    I scheduled my son’s first birthday party at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Brandon over a week in advance and specifically confirmed their swimming policy before booking. When I made the reservation through their off-site booking service, I was told they do accept non-guest swimmers. Four days ago, we even stopped in person to check out the pool area and again clarified our date (Saturday, Feb. 7th) and asked about wristbands for guests not staying at the hotel. We were told wristbands were $10 each and that outside swimmers were welcome. Today, when I called to ask about renting an event room, I was suddenly told they do not allow outside swimmers on Saturdays at all. This directly contradicts what we were told multiple times. Because of this last-minute policy change, we were forced to relocate our son’s first birthday party on the day of the event. Planning for 30–40 family and friends and then scrambling to move everything last minute is unacceptable and incredibly stressful. I’ve been a loyal rewards member for years, but this experience — inconsistent information, poor communication, and zero accommodation — has completely changed my view. Corporate has opened a case, but the damage was already done. Very disappointing experience, especially for what should have been a special milestone day for our family in Brandon.

    We love staying at this Holiday Inn because of the playground in the pool area! This last time, the pool area was filthy with no towels and the pool/hot tub was dirty, the so that was disappointing. Once we said something, they got working on it. Overall, one poor experience doesn’t outweigh the few good times we have had. Hopefully they can get a better system of cleaning the pool area every night.
