- RLRobert LockettOct 24, 20251.0I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Spartanburg, SC. I stayed from 10/10/25 to 10/13/25 for a wedding. I had a card with $200 that I left on the room table because I needed a pen to sign the card. Prior to the wedding I obtained a pen from the lobby. When I went to sign the card I realized the money was gone!!! I immediately went to check around the room, and the money was no where to be found. I went to the lobby and reported the incident to the manager. I was told that there are no cameras in the hall where the rooms are. I asked why there are no cameras, and I was told that since the hotel isn’t liable for items that are lost or stolen they don’t have cameras. I asked for an audit of the door lock. I was told that only my key was recorded as entering the room. I filled an incident report for the hotel. I also called the Spartanburg Police Department and filed a report (report #25100562). I called the corporate office as well. No resolution was provided. I wasn’t even offered a comped night of stay, which wouldn’t even meet the value of the money that was stolen. It was difficult for me to sleep the remaining night of my stay because I was so agitated and irritated about the situation. Who was in my room? How did they get in here? The spending money that I had in my wallet was untouched. No other valuables or money was stolen. Because no solution was provided to me to compensate for my loss or consideration for the fact that I in town for a wedding and the gift money is what was stolen I will never stay in a Holiday Inn Express.

I didn't have any special requests, so service was adequate. Location is great! Very close to the mall and lots of dining options.
