Even though the hotel is under renovation the place looks and feels comfy. We arrived late into the night and the staff was very welcoming. During our checkout we were greeted by two beautiful ladies with amazing smiles. I love staying in places like this one. One of the reasons I'm an IHG member. I travel a lot from Florida to New York and the Carolinas is my mid point stop. I'm definitely coming back to this place.

The restaurant was the low point of this stay. It was supposed to be open at 0600 but after waiting for a server we had to go to the kitchen to get anyone’s attention. The server finally took our order but then went away and never came back. We again had to go to the kitchen to pick up our plates and take them to our booth. The server got our order wrong and never brought my toast. He also never asked how our meal was. This part of the hotel was a complete fail.

We are long time IHG members and decided to stay 1 night on 11/24 and another on 11/29 as we traveled for Thanksgiving. Our stay on 11/24 was ok. Had to run the hot water for almost 20 minutes before it was hot enough for a shower. No big deal as they are doing construction and we figured it might have something to do with that. Dominique at the desk was professional and friendly. We stayed in room 201. On 11/29 we were surprised to get the same room. We entered the room and immediately realized it smelled funny. Opened the bathroom door to find about 2 inches of standing water in the tub, dirty towels on the counter and floor and a toilet that had feces stains in it as well as toilet paper. The bed had not been made either. I immediately walked back down and the front desk woman was professional and apologetic. She said she was embarrassed and found us another room, however, there were no king rooms--we had to take a room with two queens. The new room bathroom floor was sticky and the bathtub was not cleaned. Luckily, we are from Florida so I had my flip flops with me which we wore throughout the room and even in the shower. The bed appeared to be freshly made so at least we could get a restful nights sleep before getting back on the road. Big Problem is we paid the higher price for the king and was not offered a reduced rate for the different room. We had booked a prepaid non refundable room---and no credit has been paid. The $35 incidentals charge from the 11/29 is still in a pending mode and our bank has indicated it has not been released from the hotel nor has it been batched for payment. We requested to speak to a manager and was told we could come down at 11pm and speak to her as she would be working an audit shift. That was not something I was able to do. Next morning requested a call and was told I would get a call the same day (11/30). No call. I called the hotel on 12/4 and spoke to the first desk gentleman, who refused to give me his name but assured me a manager would return my call. Well, you guessed it, no call. All in all, we requested a call from a manager from the front desk clerk that was there on 11/29, the front desk clerk (I believe Judy) as we checked out on 11/30, and from the front desk clerk that answered the phone on 12/4. I made sure that I was kind and didn't blame any of them for any of the issues, as a desk clerk has no control over the housekeepers. We travel back and forth 8-10 times a year and sadly will skip this location in the future. The lack of follow up from management and lack of cleanliness is something that cannot be excused.

I literally canceled the online reservation MINUTES after I booked it, not days or even hours... actually minutes. I'm a IHG Holiday Inn Member with the app. I stay at this hotel when I travel. I decided to drive further down the road. I did not stay at the hotel and the points don't show up on my IHG Holiday Inn app. This is not good business. I'm a business client. It's not about the $178.00. It's the fact that I literally canceled minutes later as fast as I booked it hours before check in time.
