We have a reservation for tonight, however, last night my husband and I came down with the flu and there was no way we could drive down. I contacted the hotel at 8:30 am. I explained our predicament and needed to cancel. The clerk said he would have to talk with the manager and would call me back in 10 minutes. Two hours later I called back and was told he would call back in 5 minutes. An hour later, I contacted Corporate and got Customer Relations. They explained that within the 24 hour cancellation policy, it was up to the hotel directly. I was put on hold and and they contacted the hotel. The rep came back and said they had to stay with the 24 hours cancellation policy. I understand the policy but there are times when a humanitarian understanding should come into play. I will be looking for other hotels in the area for future stays.
