Check in was swift, only took maybe 10 minutes. The front desk service was great. $190 for one night was a bit expensive, but the room was huge. The outlet in the bathroom didn’t work, resulting in me getting ready in the bed area with no mirror. The free breakfast was inedible besides the omelets. The breakfast attendant was RUDE AS HELL, literally screamed at us multiple times to turn the waffle machine over as we are turning it.

On our trip home to Florida we chose Hampton again and were not only NOT DISAPPOINTED!! I’m an early riser and 24 hour coffee is near the front desk where I met and chatted with Sylvia, what a delight!! Add to that a delicious breakfast—loved the omelettes!! Thank you all again. Catherine

First, a shout-out to Sylvia, the night manager. I was up early, before breakfast, and she could not have been a more helpful person. She went 'above and beyond' for me and is definitely a great asset to this hotel.
The room was clean. The bed was fantastic with a fairly plush, somewhat pillow top. My wife and I rarely agree on beds, but we both agreed that this one was really good. Much better than the standard Hampton bed.
Breakfast was as complete as you could expect in a hotel with hot and cold items.
Every staff person we came into contact with was kind and professional.
After a long day of driving, we would prefer a short walk to a dinner restaurant. There is a Ruby Tuesday (that was only fair) within a 5-minute walk.

Just checked out. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was ok. Check in girl didn’t acknowledge diamond membership upon seeing my reservation at check in. Unusual for Hilton as most check in employees pay attention to your reservation on the screen and say something along the lines of “thank you for being a diamond member, which snack would you like…” I asked for a snack and she said snacks were for gold or diamond members only. I wasn’t going to mention it was such a one off for Hilton so not a big deal. But then check out was just bad so now I’m including both experiences. Stood there without being greeted. No smile, no greeting, no acknowledgment at all. Usually Hilton employees are at least a basic, “Good morning, how can I help?” Kinda vibe. At the very least a smile. I greeted first and turned my keys in and asked very nicely (hospitality management for 15 years) for a printed receipt. Said nothing. No eye contact. Pulled me up in the system, again no acknowledgment of diamond membership. Printed out my receipt and laid it on the counter. Not. A. Single. Word. Went back to her screen like her computer was the customer not me. Completely understand if I’m at the budget inn. But even they say good morning. Trust me when I say as someone that until now has only chosen to stay at Hilton, this is not the standard. If this is how you prioritize people who choose to prioritize your brand and business over others when choosing where to stay and which credit card to use in their day to day, I have no idea how you treat your guests in general. Don’t need backflips or fireworks. I’m not saving the whales or anything, just using my Hilton card. But still. A minimum spending requirement of 40k a year with your company to maintain diamond should at least warrant a smile, a greeting, a small bag of cookies and a thank you. Obviously not at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Orangeburg SC. A customer service training course focused on how to prioritize professionalism over personal preference is highly recommended.
