The hotel great!! BUT Their restaurant, The Palm and Pebble, was very disappointing. We ordered guacamole, but what we received was just plain smashed avocado with no seasoning or preparation. When I politely mentioned it, the server took it back and returned with the same avocado, only adding chopped tomatoes and onions on top. She then asked, “Is that better for you?” with an attitude that made us feel uncomfortable. While we were trying to speak with her, she simply walked away mid-conversation.
The service and professionalism were very poor. If this was our experience with the appetizer, it did not give us confidence in the quality of the main dishes.
We had a great stay at voco The Shelby in Myrtle Beach! The property was very well kept, clean, and had a welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived.
Brittany at the front desk was especially helpful — she made check-in smooth and welcoming, and even took the time to tell us about fun things to do in the area. After Brittany checked us in last night, we headed straight to the restaurant on the property.
We thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the vibe. It had a relaxed but upbeat atmosphere, and everything we ordered was delicious.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with absolutely amazing sunset views. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day out.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again!

Front desk lady was great, very welcoming. While checking in the manager, Brad introduced himself. What a great first impression.
Gentleman took our bags to our room and answered all questions. Came to get our bags when we checked out.
Restaurant was great, great food and great coffee.
We have been up and down Myrtle Beach staying at different places. The search is over. This will be our destination. Thanks to all for a great weekend.
Very retro and trendy hotel. Our room appeared very clean, but there was noticeable dust, which made me think that since it was the off season, it may have been cleaned well before our stay and not used much in between. Our balcony view was amazing, and the pool area looked super cute.
You can tell the hotel has been remodeled, and for the most part, they did a great job. However, the elevator doors seemed to be in rough shape, and the sliding door to the balcony was also worn and difficult to use.
Our last day there someone entered our room around 9am without knocking. They had towels in their hands and quickly left when they heard us. We also had the do not disturb sign on the door. This is unacceptable as we had our teenage daughter in the room alone on occasion while the rest of us were on the beach.
We were hopeful that the on-site restaurant was going to be good, but it fell far below our expectations. It was very quiet, with no music other than what the cooks were listening to. There was only one server handling both drinks and tables, so the wait was longer than it should have been. The pancakes were inedible. Extremely thin and almost hard and rubbery. Our waitress never asked how our meals were, and by the time she checked on us, we just wanted to leave, so we paid and left. This may have been due to the off-season, but unfortunately, we would not visit the restaurant again.
I would visit again with a group of friends, but I didn’t feel like it was the best option for families, especially since there was no complimentary breakfast and very little lobby space to gather.

The Shelby in Myrtle Beach, SC, is truly exceptional! From the moment we arrived, the staff provided outstanding service, making us feel welcome throughout our stay and even after we checked out. The cleanliness of the rooms, lobbies, and all areas of the hotel is impressive. There’s so much more to love about The Shelby, and we’ve definitely found our go-to place whenever we visit which is often. A big thank you to everyone at The Shelby for an unforgettable experience; we can’t wait to return!
