  We had a great stay at this hotel. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean upon arrival. The hot breakfast was an added bonus and the food choices were great, something for everyone in my family. I would definitely stay here again. The only feedback I would give to the hotel is to possibly change the mattress to something more comfortable. Our mattress was very firm, and hurt my back the next morning.

  This location is in an unattractive commercial area. About 15 to 20 minutes from the beach area. The good part: breakfast is near the front desk. The night desk clerk was very helpful and pleasant. The bad: this location, according to the general manager, does not use mattress casings. So all they use is a plain, ill-fitting mattress pad and an ill-fitting sheet. You can see the mattress itself, and your leg (and probably everyone else's leg) touches the side of the bare mattress getting in and out of bed. Another bad thing: they don't use pillow casings, either. They put one pillowcase over the pillow, and the pillow itself is potentially touching everyone's faces. This is absolutely substandard. It makes me wonder whether this location actually does launder all bedding between guests. The Hampton Inn policy makes it clear that the chain launders all pieces of the bed linens between guests, but I'm wondering if this hotel reuses the comforters or the pillows they place on against the headboard. Those pillows smelled like someone's head, and didn't smell clean like the freshly laundered pillowcases I requested from the front desk. There was a beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby, and the clerk went out of his way to contact the manager. This Hampton Inn location, however, has a lot of improving to do regarding its housekeeping policies.

  Stayed at the West Myrtle Beach Hampton with my daughter on a visit to see Coastal Carolina University. When we checked out and we were driving back to the airport I realized I had forgotten something I hung in the closet. I called the hotel, could not reach anybody. I finally was able to reach someone who said they would check the room for me and call back. They never did! I got in touch with someone at the hotel the following day and they were unable to check the room because someone was in there. They had to wait until that person checked out. Again, no return phone call. I escalated it to Hilton, the first customer satisfaction specialist person never created a "case" for the hotel to respond to. I called Hilton a few days later and they actually created a "case". Housekeeping said they didn't see anything in the room according to the hotel, when they finally responded. It is very frustrating as a long time customer of Hilton to be treated as oh well, sorry. They didn't have the decency to offer a free night stay or add points to my account to keep me as a customer. I'm done with Hilton! Back to Marriott!! This was just poor all the way around. A company like Hilton should be embarrassed to have this review out there, and so should this hotel.
