  I has never stayed at a Holiday Inn that was as bad as this one. As soon as I walked in, the cigarette smell was awful and I have severe asthma!! And there was never anyone at the desk!!! I had to wait for a long time. The people in front of me ended up just leaving. I shouldve left them but I thought I would give them a chance. The girl that checked me in NEVER even ask for my ID and she just seemed bothered that she had to check us in!! Once we made it upstairs, our room was dirty, the shower had tons of mold in there. The bathroom floor had dirty shoe prints so obviously it wasn't cleaned. It smelled horrible like there was a dead animal in the closet. The lounge chair in the room was disgusting and dirty. The carpet was also disgusting. Omg, and the seats in the dining area were SO disgusting!!! I would never sit on them!! They looked like they were pulled out of a dumpster!! And the breakfast was not good at all, it was cold, the egg omelets were still frozen in the middle. The bread was hard and old, no bagel cutter and everything looked just filthy!! Would never stay again!! Worst Holiday Inn we've EVER stayed at!! I couldn't find anyone at the desk so I could check out and get a printed receipt!!! I have NO idea how this place has some good reviews!!!

  The front desk staff was sporadically on duty, not reliable, manager not available ever (need a managerwho is on duty). Check-in and check-out were awful. The lady who prepared breakfast was awesome!

  Could have been great, but was just ok. The lack of attention to the details make a difference. Our room was spacious and clean, a great start, but the blinds won't go up (see photo), the lamp in the corner (with the protective wrapping still on the shade) didn't work, the water pressure was so low that taking a shower or washing hands took twice the time that should be needed. The shower doors no longer open and close as the sliding mechanisms have worn out. These things added up to let you know that no one cares enough to find them or fix them. Overall we slept ok, and felt safe, which is the most important thing, but the place could be so much better with a handy man to fix the little things. All it needs is someone to have the responsibility for checking the rooms regularly. Clearly this isn't in the purview of the cleaning staff, but management should own this.

  Perfect for a one night stay. Seemingly clean. Easy booking. Nice room. We asked to stay away from the street which helps with noise but the heater/ac unit is a loud noise anyway. We brought our own organic breakfast, but for those who like hotel food, they’re provide what seems like a “nice” breakfast (artificial cereal, dead animals and pancakes). Loved the blackout shades and gym access. The bed was sunken in a bit in the edges so we fell into the bed hole a few times while co-sleeping with our toddler, but still comfy. Cava food nearby. Mall nearby. Beach 12 minutes away.

  Fair warning: this is a long review, but it’s necessary. I have stayed at over 100 IHG properties across the country, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Given the location of Mt. Pleasant, I expected a level of quality and professionalism that this property completely failed to deliver. We walked in to check-in, and we didn’t see any employees. Ok no problem, they are probably working on something in the back. After a few minutes, I walk to the other side of the desk, and there she was. Sitting down, on her phone. No problem, she probably didn’t hear us. She then asked if we were checking in. She didn’t look up. She didn’t stand up. She just sat there. I was in shock. Never had an experience with any hotel in any chain like this. Not friendly. Not welcoming. It was like ordering at a fast food restaurant. Absolute terrible experience checking in. After that, we make our way to our room. The halls are clean, updated, and have high ceilings. Just an amazing looking Holiday Inn Express, and they did a good job of updating the property. We get to our room, and everything looks ok. Big room. Noticed “stains” on the one chair in the room. Disgusting. Went to unload toiletries, and was impressed by the cleanliness of the bathroom. Went to flush the toilet, and come to find out it takes two flushes in order for it to work properly. Yet another disappointing feature. Went to take a shower. Low water pressure. I get out, lay on the bed. It has to be at least a 15 year old mattress, with pillows that were bought at the same time. We went to leave for our event, passed by a different worker at the front desk this time. No acknowledgement. She, too, was sitting. I get not standing the entire time. I am sure it’s a tiring job. But when you have customers, at least make an attempt. Not this hotel though. This is the culture they foster. Finally at checkout after second night, the most exciting part; digital checkout. Thankfully I didn’t have to interact with another employee at this place. We go outside to our car to load our luggage. We saw 3 employees standing by the dumpsters smoking weed. This hotel has a MAJOR management problem. They don’t get the best employees, which at Mt. Pleasant, you would expect. This is a hotel I regret booking and will make sure not to repeat.
