Title: This Home2 Suites sets the gold standard
I have spent seven nights at this Home2 Suites while traveling for business, and I can honestly say this stay has exceeded my expectations in every possible way. I was previously loyal to Marriott, but after this experience, I am officially switching to Hilton. I even extended my stay by 2 days.
This property should be the flagship hotel for how Home2 Suites is meant to operate. On my drive down, I stayed at another Home2 Suites in North Carolina that felt like a generic branded hotel and was one of the worst stays I’ve had. This location, however, is the complete opposite. It feels like a resort. It has a fitness center, pool, fire pit, laundry center, full kitchen, insane amount of storage in the room. I moved from up north with 4 seasons of clothing and I still have more room.
The beds are exceptionally comfortable—and I am extremely particular about mattresses. I don’t know where these mattresses come from, but they are beyond comfortable. The room is incredibly quiet, truly soundproof, and feels like home.
The breakfast is outstanding—fresh, hot, and different every day, with an excellent variety and convenient to-go options. I have stayed in upscale boutique hotels, and this breakfast surpasses many of them. Special kudos to Leza and her breakfast team—not only is the space immaculate, but the staff is warm, personable, and genuinely welcoming. Every day- they had something magical. They had chicken and waffles.. 🧇.. and much more.
The front desk team deserves recognition:
• Ashley went above and beyond helping with small issues and was incredibly kind and patient.
• Crystal was like a mini concierge—knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, sharing great insight about Charleston.
• Kim was consistently pleasant and helpful.. she recommended everything for my dog.- dog parks, where to go, you name it.
: Andrew was so helpful , kind and gave me an extended checkout
• Kelly, the sales manager, did a fantastic job coordinating my stay. She was an angel. Professional, organized, kind and so helpful. If you are moving or need a block of rooms or a corporate stay- she will work with you.
- Gladys and Jean keep this hotel super clean .
There are so many more , I didn’t get their names.
The room itself is thoughtfully designed with ample cabinet and storage space, a full kitchen with dishes, utensils, dishwasher, microwave, and a full-size refrigerator. There’s a large desk area, a sofa bed, and plenty of space to truly live—not just stay. Blackout window shades are excellent, which matters greatly to someone who struggles with sleep.
I traveled with my dog, who has anxiety, and he has been calmer here than anywhere I’ve stayed in the nine years I’ve had him. Complete different dog. He felt like home. The dog-friendly atmosphere, treats at the front desk, and peaceful environment made a noticeable difference. Plenty of places to walk, dog park near by, you name it- the hotel is upbeat but serene.
Amenities are excellent: a mini-mart, business center, gym, laundry facilities, outdoor fire pit, grill area, and pool. The housekeepers are kind, attentive, and always ensured I had fresh towels and a clean space.
I am genuinely sad to be checking out. I came here for work and did not expect to feel this comfortable or at home. For value, comfort, cleanliness, and service, this hotel surpasses many luxury brands I’ve stayed at—including during my time working at the W in New York City. I have traveled all over the world.. and this property hit every mark possible. People are genuinely kind and thoughtful here. A lot of them live on the island.
One thing I will say is that Hilton rewards has messed up my name and points.. on my rewards . It’s very frustrating speaking with them
If you are thinking of moving to Charleston, stay here for 2 weeks- Kelly will work with you. Rent a car, or take your car, and then figure out where your neighborhood is..
But This Home2 Suites is exceptional, and I will absolutely return.

I stayed one night at the Home2 Suites by Hilton on Daniel Island and had a very comfortable, positive experience. This appears to be a newer property, and the room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully laid out.
The suite-style design really stood out. The room included an almost full-size refrigerator, full-size microwave, dishwasher, kitchen sink, plates, bowls, utensils, and kitchenware. There was also a Cuisinart coffee maker and a paper towel holder in the kitchen area — a small but extremely practical detail that more hotels should adopt. A curtain divider separates the living/kitchen area from the bedroom, which made the space feel more functional and private.
Lighting throughout the room was excellent, with multiple lamps and fixtures, and several outlets included USB and USB-C ports, which was very convenient. The hair dryer was stored neatly in a bathroom drawer rather than wall-mounted, another thoughtful touch.
I checked in at the front desk and had a great interaction. The staff member was friendly, welcoming, and professional, and the check-in process was smooth and pleasant — a strong first impression that really set the tone for the stay.
Overall, this Home2 Suites delivered exactly what I expect from the brand: a clean, modern, well-equipped room and good service. I would absolutely stay here again, especially for a longer visit.
