  I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in the Columbia Fort Jackson area, and while the staff was polite and the location was convenient, there were a few things future guests might want to be aware of. Some amenities weren’t fully operational during my visit, which made getting a bit of work done more challenging than expected. Also, access to certain areas of the hotel required extra steps that weren’t always convenient, such as a key card required for the restroom due to vagrants using it on the first floor of the lobby. The room itself was generally fine, though a few details could definitely use attention, especially for those who value a more polished stay. The bunk bed setup could be a nice idea for families, but the mattresses seemed pretty worn, and a couple of things in the room could have been cleaner or more updated, well, everything, to be honest. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible stay; we did walk away alive. But I’d recommend checking ahead to make sure everything you need is up and running. With a lot of improvements, it could be a much better experience. The HVAC unit for the room was AWESOME!!! I wish out of everything, all hotels had units this nice.

  Room #320 had NO air conditioning. We didn't discover this until night time when we were so uncomfortable while we were trying to sleep. I've been trying for a week to get someone from management to answer my call or call me back about a small compensation. The check out person didn't have the authority to help, but she took down our information. I waited until Thursday Nov 20th to call and have called 4 times. I'm learning there is a management problem and they have called in a Taskforce GM, Michael Hutchings, who apparently isn't helping. I booked directly (no 3rd party like Expedia) because that's supposed to help if you have a problem. It certainly isn't helping me in this case. To be fair the motel is nice, but you're taking a chance because you will not get help if you have a problem. Tamica from housekeeping was so nice and even came into our room and verified the air conditioning wasn't working. IHG will be notified, I'm stopping payment on my credit card and anything else I can think of. This could have been so easily resolved with a small credit when we didn't have full access to the comforts a hotel promises to provide.

  This hotel was very nice the room was specious & very clean the breakfast was good & the pool was indoor and the breakfast staff was very friendly I would definitely stay here again

  Rooms were spacious and clean, pretty good breakfast (did wait a while on eggs when we got there at 8:45). Desk employees this time were a bit unfriendly and service wasn’t great. We arrived and waited several minutes for someone to come to the desk, phone was off the receiver, and we felt like we were disturbing him. When we were checking out, the desk clerk didn’t say thank you, and “you can leave”. We wanted a paper receipt and was told it would be in the email. We were not asked if there was an issue or if our stay was good.

  Rooms is fine but cleaning staff needs to be retrained, kiki was the lady that cleaned my room and i happened to walk in just after she was done and the pictures will speak for themselves. The breakfast area can be Called Squeaky Land because of their nasty floor everyday!!
