On Dec 30, I checked into Holiday Inn downtown Columbia for two nights. I went to dinner and came back to holiday inn. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer from the bartender. Olivia poured me a beer and then accused me of opening a beer which I purchased next door. I showed her the beers were still unopened and had a lock cover on the cans. I told her I didn’t open a beer or attempted to open a beer and was reading the label. She continued to accuse me of opening a beer. I firmly and tersely told Olivia I didn’t open a beer. She tabbed me out and said if I said anything else she would kick me out of the hotel. As for the room, I paid extra for a city view which my room had a nice view of the parking structure and an alley. Rooms very small, refrigerator was broken and the room was dirty.
I read a lot of reviews after checking in about the poor customer service, small rooms and dirty rooms. I should have read the reviews before booking this hotel. I will check out a day early and lose the money but I will not tolerate disrespect, rude and unprofessional from Olivia. I hope Elie maalouf (CEO) of holiday inn and Jody reads my email.

I stayed at this hotel and unfortunately took ill during my stay (no fault of the hotel) I was there taking my daughter on a school visit and had to leave early in the morning to drop her off. I called the hotel to inform them that I was not feeling well and that I would be returning so they would not think that I checked out if they saw us leave that morning. Moments later I received a text thanking me for my stay. I replied to the text informing them that I had not checked out yet. I called back and spoke with Brittany who was very rude and dismissive. She stated that I had received a general text that goes out to everyone. I asked to confirm that because I didn’t want any problems with my room key when I returned because I was not feeling well. When I returned I asked if there were any Tylenol or Ibuprofen there. Without looking in my direction she states that I am 5 minutes from the nearest store. I proceeded to my room able to get in but the bed had been stripped. I called the front desk, no answer. I go to the front desk to tell Brittany that my bed had been stripped and that I had called to inform them that I was not checking out. I also told her that she was who I spoke to which she admitted to in a very unapologetic way. The entire time that I was talking to the young lady I was either speaking to the side of her face or the top of her head as she never looked in my direction or showed any real acknowledgment of my presence. Brittany asked me what I wanted her to do about the housekeeping’s error in removing my bedding. I did not have a lot of time left and was angry at that point so I asked for a discount and that I would leave. Brittany told me she could not give me a discount because I booked through Expedia. She then offers me another room which I declined at that point because I was not going to get any rest in the amount of time I had left. She proceeds to tell me that I am not working with her! At that point I asked for a manager. She abruptly told me that the manager was not there so I asked for a name and number. She points to the business cards on the counter tells me the hours the manager will be there on Monday and sarcastically tells me to have a nice holiday. The unprofessional dig at the end was just insult to injury. This is the type of behavior that could cause a emotionally unstable person to hurt her. She was rude when I came down for breakfast to not only me but an older gentleman who was just trying to make conversation. There was another staff member at the register who was very polite. I wish I knew her name. She kind of made up for Brittany’s nasty disposition that morning at breakfast. Today is Thursday, I called the manager Jodi Corp and left two messages since Tuesday once I arrived home. I am posting this because I have received no response and Brittany’s behavior needs addressing. There was nothing hospitable about her hospitality. People work hard for their money. Receiving rude, dismissive behavior just should not be tolerated. Even my teenage daughter noticed how rude Brittany was to the gentleman who was talking to her.
