  Pros: Amazing location, awesome sunset views, fair price, amazing pillows (not the cheap one’s most hotels use), helpful staff. Cons: Sink was broken (they fixed it upon request though), needs a fresh coat of paint, parking lot was not lit at all during nighttime, pool was closed (didn’t say that when booking), bed was small, shower tub was slippery (I fell). Overall rating: 3.6

  Great experience! Great service! Received text messages several times each day to check in that we were having a good stay! Location perfect & free! Free shuttle as well & easy to Uber if needed! Rooftop restaurant awesome as well!

  We stayed at the hotel for three nights. First arriving, it was relatively smooth and fine. While the location of the hotel was great and we were able to hop onto the sidewalk for easy access to the city, not sure i would recommend staying here. The second morning we woke up to a dead cockroach in our room, which I did inform staff on. We didn’t complain about it, just simply told someone and moved on. The following days we requested THREE times for our room to be restocked/cleaned etc. This was never completed until the final time we asked, and all they did was give us more towels. I even offered to take our own trash out and sweep if I was given directions on where to find these things (i was not told where). The front desk staff did not care to help us and did not acknowledge us much. I do appreciate the number i was texting, I believe it was an individual named Theresa, she responds relatively quickly, however still not much was done by the front desk staff/cleaning services. Furthermore, the idea of a shuttle is a good idea however it was simply a dented Honda Van which seems very odd and uncomfortable. According to the paper given at arrival, it fit 12 people which is simply not possible in a car. Would I recommend this hotel? No. However is it the worst possible thing in the world? No

  Location is great. Service is HORRIBLE. Staff talks as they are in a fight with you. Very defensive with normal questions like " where is the tea/coffee station" at the breakfast area. They have to make it in their kitchen and bring it to you!! Just a cup of tea! No water in the pool and no warning of that online. Toilets in the rooms look nasty n old. Very different from the photos online. Just bad bad bad experience. Will never stay here again ugh... Oh let me come back and add there are no mini refrigerators or Microwaves in the rooms!

  Was sent here by Ralph H Johnson VA Hospital for an overnight stay after a medical procedure where I couldn’t drive myself…located directly across the bridge from the hospital 🏥, the hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly…because it’s landlocked as well as quaint it, I appreciated my stay. I stayed here in April 2026 and I expected an awful experience based on previous reviews but my stay was pleasantly nice, considering this is an older hotel so realize that and don’t trip cause it is well maintained…my only concern was the fantastic beds…they are on the high and fluffy side🤭really comfortable but because I had been sedated and was staying here to sleep it off it was a pleasant challenge to get up in the bed. The traffic sounds went with the location and the traffic ebbed and flowed as traffic does. Charleston is a growing city and this hotel is on its own little island right in the middle and on the edge a waterway leading into a busy part of downtown and so…It can be a challenge to enter and leave the parking lot but it’s doable. I recommend going here but if you’re the fussy type you might find reasons to complain…for me it was complementary for my hospital experience and I’m honored for the privilege as well as the opportunity to experience the Riverview Towers I had always seen it and admired the uniqueness of the building and surrounding and will be staying here for all my visits to the VA hospital cause it’s less the 6 minutes away depending on traffic, as well as historical…my ultimate advice is try it and appreciate a piece of history and recognize it beautifully maintain location while you visit a beautiful historic city. It’s a work of art I recognized it as such…
