  The room is very nice, and bed is comfortable. Water pressure is disappointing. The fan does not shut off. The noise from it is ruining my night. I am trying to relax after a long 300 mile drive, and it's impossible. My decibel app is reading above comfortable at 56 decibels. Not happy :(

  I stayed here while visiting College of Charleston accepted student event. The lobby and breakfast space is clean and open. The front desk staff was very welcoming. The rooms are older in terms of carpets, bathroom, etc but they are sufficient. I did like the mini refrigerator and microwave and the wardrobe space. Plenty of space to put clothing, etc. Unfortunately our television did not work. I did ask the front desk to have someone come to fix it (no connection) and no one ever came. My daughter and I were disappointed to miss watching the Olympics for two nights. The fitness center is very bare bones so if that is important to you you may want to look elsewhere. The breakfast looked great. We did not have an opportunity to take advantage but it is a full, hot breakfast with a super cool pancake machine! Overall, I think the hotel is a good value for the money if you are looking for an inexpensive place to sleep while visiting Charleston.

  Terrible service! Charges on final bill that shouldn’t be there! Dirty bed linens and stained pillows. And plumbing that doesn’t flush when flushed, takes approximately 4 minutes. And then a very loud banging noise when it finally flushes. Stay away.

  Kyler, who manages the hotel during the daytime, is amazing! He is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He gives the best Customer Service experience. The only negative is that during breakfast they only have a computerized coffee maker. It takes too long and there is always a long line for the coffee. We will be back!

  We had an electrical fire at our home on James Island & have been staying here for a few days while we figure out the next steps of our life & every staff member has been beyond kind to us!!! Natasha, Alicia, Kyler, & Lisa deserve to be recognized for going over & above with their hospitality. IHG should provide them a raise, bonus, or additional personal/vacation time for their continual efforts to provide comfort for myself & my family In addition to everyone else, I witnessed them encounter during our stay. I would recommend this holiday inn express solely on the staff (although the accommodations were equally as welcoming). Thank you so much for everything!
