Stayed here for 1 night, my dad had a surgery early in the morning at the VA and they paid for the hotel, so it was free to us. Overall it was someplace to sleep, but I would not pay my money to stay here. It was very outdated, the floor was super sticky, bathroom was so small and the shower curtain didn't close all the way so the floor got soaked. Our "view" was the waffle house next door. Honestly didn't feel the safest there either.

They say the rooms have been renovated, but what they should say is they put some lipstick on a pig and called it a renovation. The decor is absolutely horrible. The photos on the wall look like a child made them in and should be on a fridge instead of in a frame in a hotel. The floor in our bathroom was literally falling apart. You could see into the void between the walls of the rooms and there were some seriously questionable dark fluids dried on the wall around the toilet. The fancy light up mirror they put in the sink area is nice, but the amazing light it puts out only highlights the years of repairs and unpainted wall patches on the walls around the sink. The shower didn't drain. We had to improvise a plunger between showers. There was rust all over the towel rack and the door jams. Overall the rooms remind me of a section-8 apartment where the landlord just doesn't care. On the upside if you're into vintage toilets, the toilets are a 1969 model Americal Standard toilet, original to the hotel, which was built in the 70s.
The restaurant was ok. We had the buffet breakfast because we're not offering the breakfast menu. It was better than expected. The real stars of the restaurant were the servers. The service was solid, very attentive.
The hotel and parking lot seem safe, its a fairly hard place for bad elements to walk to given its location, but coming in after a day sightseeing, there was a homeless man, hanging out inside the lobby, helping himself to a cup of coffee. He seemed harmless, but it wasn't a good look from a safety and security from a customers perspective.

The hotel is very nice-comfortable bed and great views with a very convenient location. On November 7th , I took the shuttle to the market . There was supposed to be a pickup at 11:45. I was there at 11:30 waiting and driver didn’t show up. I tried calling the hotel SIX times and before I could say a word , whoever was answering phone hung up! Finally on 7th try-they answered. And then today, nov 11th, I tried calling TWELVE times and kept getting a hang up!😡😡😡😡. . Had a charge that was not mine. Finally called for reservations and a guy answered and hopefully got the charge dropped. Management needs to have a chat with the employees that will not answer the phone!!!!

This hotel is a more affordable Charleston alternative. You are away from downtown but the hotel offers free shuttles throughout the day. Views are amazing. Bathrooms are small but it is nice that there is a sink outside the toilet/bath separated by a door.

This hotel let another guest into our room at night with a key and management did not care!!!
We checked in Friday October 10th with checkout Monday the 13th for a Wedding. On Friday, we get a knock from maintenance surprised someone was in the room but we think nothing of it. On Saturday October 11, we get a text thanking us for our stay then a knock on the door from housekeeping asking if we were leaving. We cleared it up with the front desk and were told we were “accidentally checked out early but we were set”. Sunday the 12th I get a call from the front desk asking why we haven’t left yet. I tell the girl this is the second time this has happened and someone needs to fix it ASAP because I’m at a wedding and we’re booked through the night. They assure me it’s ok and a misunderstanding. Fast forward to midnight on Sunday and we arrive back to our keys disabled. The desk girl couldn’t find our reservation and said no one was in our room. She called the onsite manager Bri Fisher who apparently was aware of our situation. Bri said we had to pay the updated nightly rate to get back into our room because they checked us out again (she ended up adding a $374.02 room charge to our already $700+ stay that was paid). I was trying to explain and show her our booking and she would not listen that we were guests staying there. Because the room showed vacant, they gave another guest our room and he came inside our room with all of our belongings at night. Bri said because she didn’t check us out it essentially wasn’t her problem then charged us to even give us our keys back. When I said there was a man in our room and that is unsafe and not ok she had nothing to say. She was acting inconvenienced, wouldn’t make eye contact with us and would only speak to the desk girl not my fiancé and I directly. There was no remorse and as a woman this could have gone terribly wrong. This “manager” needs to be fired or investigated. I don’t say this lightly but she had no care for our safety or remorse seeing this was her staffs mistake.
As we were leaving the HR woman at the front desk confirmed it was a front desk mistake that was never caught and the hotel was FULLY at fault (which we knew). They said we needed to speak with the GM Amanda to clear this up. She said she was going to fully refund us and send us an email in writing confirming. The main charge was removed however the additional charge Bri added has not been. We have yet to hear from her despite multiple follow up attempts or see that charge reversed. This has been an absolute nightmare of a situation.
