  Always a pleasure staying here. The beds are comfortable, the service is exceptional and everything is perfect. This time around, only 1 elevator was working and we did find it a bit frustrating. But as always, everything was top notch and we will be back.

  I spent three nights at the Four Seasons Montreal for my birthday, and unfortunately, the experience felt cold and impersonal from start to finish. No one offered to help with my luggage as I arrived in the snow, and the front desk didn’t realize I had two separate bookings. I was also told I couldn’t stay in the same room because of early morning construction, which I never even heard. Two different staff members checked my passport when I checked in, yet no one ever acknowledged my birthday. I was traveling solo, and those small gestures of warmth really matter, especially when you’re far from home. Even at the spa, where I spent over $800, no one mentioned it — just an aggressive upsell for $6,000 worth of skincare, and the facial left me with a breakout. To make things worse, staff kept calling me “Mrs.” despite my corrections. The moment that really stayed with me was after my spa appointment, when a group of employees rushed into the elevator as I was stepping out. One glared at me and waved for me to “get out.” It was unkind and jarring, not what you’d ever expect from a Four Seasons. The hotel itself is beautiful and elegant, but the lack of warmth, attentiveness, and basic courtesy made my stay feel transactional rather than special. For a birthday trip at a luxury property, I left feeling unseen and disappointed instead of celebrated.

  Exceptionally Comfortable Stay at the Four Seasons Montreal We had an amazing experience at the Four Seasons Hotel in Montreal. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely focused on making our stay enjoyable. Our room was incredibly comfortable—spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the small details in the room (lighting, decor, amenities) really elevated the experience. It was the perfect balance of luxury and comfort. The overall atmosphere of the hotel feels peaceful and elegant, making it easy to relax whether you’re in the room, the lobby, or enjoying any of the hotel spaces. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about when we’ll come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a beautiful place to stay in Montreal.

  Hotels are liminal spaces—neither here nor there. The Four Seasons Montreal understands this. It sits in the Golden Square Mile, where French and English Montreal have negotiated an architectural truce. The building participates in this linguistic détente: sleek, modern, diplomatically neutral. I return because it offers what writers need: solitude without loneliness. The rooms contain everything necessary, nothing extraneous. Windows frame the city like a painting you can step into or away from. The staff possess discretion—that nearly extinct quality. They appear when needed, vanish when not. Beyond, the city pulses with duality: ‘bonjour’ and ‘hello’, defiance and politeness. The hotel absorbs this, makes peace with it, offers shelter from it. In a city that has mastered being two things at once, the Four Seasons has mastered being one thing completely—a refuge.
