Highly recommend DoubleTree hotel in Montreal Centre Ville!
The staffs at the reception were superb! They were the first impression to the hotel and it was a very pleasant experience - Nikolas who helped us to check in was friendly.
We got a room with a king sized bed. The room was very spacious and clean! The bed was big and comfortable.
It has the best location in Montreal. Close to both downtown Montreal and old Montreal. Both are in walking distance.
Lots of parkings in the building. If you use the shopping mall's underground parking which is in the same building, it's cheaper on weekends. It's $17/day. The hotel offers valet service too which is around $45. So it's your call.

After being greeted by a rude front desk things just went from bad to worse. Watched the racist front desk manager walk away from an Indian couple who were in the middle of making a complaint and being very calm about it, she just walked away, and then came out when a white woman wanted to make a complaint and talked for 15 minutes with her. Disgusting behavior. And the fact that I saw this in 25 minutes sitting in the lobby, after being rudely treated myself I can only imagine how many complaints they walk away from. Then when asked what the name of the employee was so there could be a complaint filed, nobody would give a name. I guess you can't be held responsible if you stay anonymous.
We loved most of our stay at this Doubletree smack in the middle of downtown Montreal.
The staff, especially housekeeping and breakfast staff were very professional, kind and efficient. The main lobby and the adjoining public spaces are updated and clean. Lobby is also connected to the adjoining huge mall -practical if you need to make a last minute purchase.
Breakfast is a full buffet with many choices. Service staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Our Executive King room seemed fine at first but upon closer inspection there were many, many details (scratches, stains, holes in the wall, scuffs) that were in need of dire repair. We were warned beforehand of the ongoing construction but there really wasn’t much noise or problems related to it.
The executive lounge is a nice touch and had something different every day. It was however closed one of the nights we were there.
The hotel is very near two metro lines and a 747 bus that takes you to the airport. We were able to enjoy a symphony at the nearby concert hall. We were also able to walk to the older section of town, waterfront, and hike to Mount Royal. There are also many restaurants nearby especially in Chinatown.

Final update! I told the hotel that I didn't feel comfortable staying here because of the way I had been treated and that I needed to move to a different hotel. The manager had the nerve to threaten to charge me a late cancellation penalty!!! I am going to file an official grievance with Hilton HQ at this point. Also, you can see how disgusting the sink was in the picture. The tech also insinuated that I might have caused it, asking me when I checked in. What is wrong with these people!?
Original post: The quality is very lacking for the Hilton name. The bathroom door is a hanging slide door with huge gaps, so there is zero privacy. My room's bathroom sink was clogged and not draining right. I noticed this 10 minutes after the check-in. I packed up and went to the front desk to ask for a different room. The receptionist's response was "did you touch anything?" I told him I touched a hand towel because I brushed my teeth, which was how I discovered the issue. He told me that he couldn't put me in a different room because I touched something and that I'd have to wait for someone to come repair it. I was blown away by this. Never had a hotel treat a customer this way when there was an issue in a room. Update: I spoke to another staff who agreed with me that this was not right. She transferred me to their manager. The manager told me he couldn't put me in a different room because they were full. I asked for a compensation for this issue as an alternative solution. He refused. Also, they kept telling me that technical was already on their way every time I spoke to them. No one has shown up. I'm stuck waiting. Another update: there is staff preparing a room across the hallway from me right now, so clearly there is a room that they can switch. This is unacceptable.
