I was a bit worried about this hotel because of some negative reviews, but I took a chance since it was a last‑minute booking — and I’m glad I did.
The location is excellent, right across from Jacques Cartier Park. Parliament Hill isn’t too far either, though it may not be the most comfortable walking distance for people with mobility issues. Our room had a balcony and was clean, with two double beds, a TV, Wi‑Fi, a fridge, a coffee maker, and an iron. I requested a microwave, and they provided one without any issue. Upgrading the double beds to queens would be a great improvement.
Hospitality and service were exceptional. Aaron is an amazing host with a genuinely pleasant personality — he really made sure our stay felt 5‑star. The welcome gift was a thoughtful touch, with water bottles, chocolates, and granola bars.
Both the room and the washroom were clean and a decent size. Shampoo, towels, toiletries, and a hair dryer were all provided. Chairs on the balcony would have been a nice addition to enjoy the spectacular view of the Rideau Canal, Parliament Hill, and the Ottawa skyline.
Parking is free. There are about 25 spaces in front of the hotel, and they mentioned additional lots nearby, including an underground option they own. Free coffee (several kinds) and drinking water are available 24/7 in the lobby, along with a microwave for guest use.
Breakfast is an extra CAD $14.99 per person. We didn’t try it, but it seemed to include a good selection: eggs, muffins, bread, pancakes, bagels, potatoes, meat, French toast, tea, coffee, juice, cereal, and more.
We didn’t check out the pool or gym, though I did see kids swimming through the window. Check‑in and check‑out were smooth. The front desk manager, Aziza, is such a pleasant person — she even offered us a discount for a future stay and gave us chocolates at checkout.
Overall, it was a relaxing stay that exceeded our expectations.
