- JRJoanne RyanOct 14, 20251.0Worst Hampton Inn stay we’ve ever had! Checked in Saturday night, and per the information posted, rooms are serviced every other day. On Sunday morning, we found that the shower head had two options; a hose-like straight down flow, or a conical mist that made it very difficult to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. On Monday, the shower curtain flipped out of the tub, soaking the floor which required the tub mat and two towels to sop up the water. That evening, we came back to the room and found no service had been done, so no fresh towels. I went down to the front desk and asked for towels. The lady at the front desk apologized and supplied the towels. No problem, I said. I understand that sometimes things don’t go as planned. On Tuesday, I tried to soak my shirt on which I had spilled something, only to find that the sink stopper was totally disconnected from the knob in back of the sink that controls it. Ugh. When we left that morning we made absolutely sure that the “do not disturb” had not been left on the door so the housekeeper (who was two rooms down when we left), would know it was okay to service. (The “do not disturb” was not left on the door on Monday either.). Tuesday evening we returned to the room to find it had not been serviced…again. I went down to the front desk to ask for service as we needed the trash emptied, new towels, and we had only 1/4 of a roll of toilet tissue remaining. We asked why our room had not been serviced and were told that we needed to request service at the front desk in the morning!! I thought every other day service meant actually just that. Anyway, they have no one to service a room in the evening, so I gathered up all the used towels, replaced the toilet tissue, and shelved our fresh towels. I’m wondering how I request a tip for taking care of a room for which I paid the same amount as other guests? And just a minor thing, but might I suggest to those who service the coffee bar that they use the hot water container for only that. As a tea drinker, it completely ruins my tea to taste the remnants of coffee. Needless to say, it’s doubtful I’ll ever stay here again.
