Room are very dated and kinda small. Creaky old floors and no ac/heat controls in room. I was freezing (Florida Native) and had to sleep in my clothes to keep warm.
Lobby carpet was filthy and the hallways are dimly lit.
Place gives ya that "bet some folks hung there selves in here" kinda vibe.

Loved the town and hotel. Hotel is well maintained for it's age which is much of the charm.

While I didn't stay here, I stopped in to look at this historic building. Saidia was working the front desk and was very kind and showed my friends, wife and myself around the hotel and told us about the history of this place. I hope to visit this town again, and if I do I'll be sure to book at the Penn Wells Hotel. I highly recommend for anyone that is a history enthusiast.

The hotel is retro and quirky, which was charming. The staff overall were not friendly. There was no heat in the room. The plumbing was interesting, the toilet would “burp” when the room above flushed and the sink drained slowly. Very limited hotel restaurant/bar hours, closing at 8PM.
