The location is excellent—close to the colleges and just a short drive to most places in Pittsburgh. However, the room we were assigned was extremely noisy, especially in the morning due to highway traffic, as the hotel is located right next to it. When we checked in at night, we noticed earplugs in the room (similar to those given on airplanes). It seemed unusual at first, but by morning, we understood why. The noise from passing trucks was loud enough to wake us up early.
While the service was great, I would not recommend staying here unless you can secure a room facing the river rather than the highway.

I loved the rooms and it was easy to access. You need to check in before you try to park. I love the sound of the city but if you don't this may not be the place for you.

Nice. Clean. Rooms are a little dark. My room must've been close to party area as night 1 (Tuesday) there was a loud band until late and night 2 (Wednesday) there was a dj until late.. perhaps consider those traveling for business to be further away from the action.

BAD ROAD NOISE AND $30 NIGHT PARKING!
Hotels room was solid very nice and clean. I walked into the room it was a double queen that was clean and modern. I looked over the room pretty good no bugs or left over past guest stuff but I did notice there were 5 ear plugs on the nightstand and I said uh-oh but I use white noise. Oh my word it was awful for road noise starting at 4:45 am with semis and car noise. I felt like I was in the middle of the highway. MAKE SURE TO GET A ROOM ON THE RIVER SIDE OR JUST LEAVE YOU WILL THANK ME. Staff were great in all my interactions. Parking is $30 or you can do what I did and go to the cover public parking ramp for $15 a night with lights and ample parking! I stay at a lot of IHG properties but this one is making me reconsider my Platinum status and go elsewhere for better stays.
