This is a nice hotel. It has a number of good amenities like round the clock coffee bar (because the front desk operates it) and a smaller restaurant with good food. We really enjoyed the omelette at breakfast! Overall we liked this place.

Good location, room was small! If you work remotely, be aware that there is only a small wall-mounted folding desk to work at, and the chair does not have casters. I did not have a rental car, but valet parking overnight was $45. There is a garage down the street for $15 as I recall. The restaurant was quite expensive, but you are given a token for one free drink. Wasn't busy on a Friday night. The lobby is nice, it is an old Salvaiton Army building. Common areas were clean and well-maintained. I thought bottled water was free as a Hilton Plus member but it is only for silver or gold level, just be aware of that.

Stayed in the room they have labeled as a penthouse. it’s a dump. See photos, you can tell they don’t inspect their rooms often for quality. If this is how bad the penthouse is i can’t image what their normal rooms look like. Room was was not stocked upon my check in, lotion and hand soap mounted on wall was empty. What looked like Dry blood on the back of the curtains, and mystery debris stuck all over the ceiling. Vents over in dust. the king size bed in this room has the firmness of a bean bag.. lucky it was just a one night stay. I also did notice a couple of their handi-cap push buttons do not work to open doors.

Absolutely horrible experience. I spent 4 nights in this hotel… "by Hilton". I travel a lot for business, usually looking for hotels with good value for money, so no fancy stuff for me. -> so I am used to small inconveniences now and then. I do have patience and understanding. But this was waaay too much. 1. Arrived late at night, the front desk informed me that I need to pay for the whole stay + security deposit. I was sure my company had already paid via booking, but they denied it. The next day of course I received payment confirmation and the hotel had to return the second payment. 2. Then I went into the room, and there was an extremely loud fan that worked non-stop, it was not AC, but something from the central air system. Absolutely impossible to stay in the room due to noise. Had to change the rooms. 3. Whatever the hotel considers to be a "working desk" – is not, it is a piece of wood screwed into the wall, no electric plug anywhere near. Asked the front desk for an extension cord, they said they don’t have any. So I went to Target nearby and bought one myself. 4. But little did I know, that this "working desk" wouldn’t serve me long. On the second day the desk came out of the wall, so incorrectly it was mounted. I just had my computer, hands and bottle of water, and it didn’t survive such heavy stuff. In the morning of the third day I let the front desk know about it, they said maintenance will solve this, maintenance came at 8:40 PM and told me they will not drill the wall, because it’s late. I suppose I was staying in a circus, not in a hotel. 5. So i had to use ironing board as a desk. 6. During the whole stay there were problems with AC, at that time it was even 14°F (-10°C) in Pittsburgh. No way to have steady temperature in the room. However somehow manageable, I didn’t freeze to death. However before the last night the AC broke, it blew only cold air, I had 62.5°F (17°C), until finally maintenance came in the evening to repair it. 7. Ohhhh and I forgot, during the first day I had to call maintenance because the safe was broken, they had to reset it before I could use it. 8. Add to this that the cleaning is horrible -> they don’t even vacuum the carpet (of course picture attached). 9. And let's not forget that "by Hilton" is charging $3 for 0,5L bottle of water in the room. Outrageous. of course unless "you are member of their network". Mattress comfortable, breakfast OK, location great. And you have the whole picture.

Location wise - golden triangle, plus! Parking was ample but was off-site pricing or valet with unlimited in and out (I chose the public route). The lobby was comfortable, the rooftop mezzanine makes for a great photo spot of the city's financial area. But that's about where things end... The room is micro, as per the segment, but things like an iron and ironing board are missing in place of a neighbourhood guide on the wall that I didn't use. Or maybe the lack of iron was due to budget restrictions as the carperting was holy in my unit, the noise of shutting doors all night and rattling of metal from the heater I could only keep on auto or low kept me up. Or maybe it was the lack of quality control done in the wet space when it was renovated, because hearing the shower head drip every minute it not every 5 seconds was maddening. This aside, the customer support from the front desk was helpful and often easier to access help with than other hotel franchisees. The doorman was pleasant, the token for a complimentary beverage at the bar was a perk, and the ability to use the sites bicycles makes for a fun travel moment for warmer days. Overall, better than some of the other hiltons i've been to, just don't get a room facing the massive parking garage.
