Hair clumps under the sink (more than one), hair behind the bathroom door. There was water marks all around the sink which I was able to scrub off with some elbow grease which just means to me it's not clean enough. The walls on the shower looked like it had some soap scum buildup. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was yucky. To me these are things that don't take long that should be standard room cleaning. During my online check-in I filled out the "special requests" section and indicated that we definitely need 3 beds. There was no bedding on the pull out and none in the room. The front desk supplied it quickly however I feel as though the bed should have either been made or they should have at the very least had it in the room ready for us. The beds themselves (without our usual neurotic inspection) seemed clean and we're decently comfortable. The morning included hot breakfast was plenty and kept clean. My son was a huge fan of the automatic pancake maker. I was a big fan myself of the fresh ground coffee maker in the cafeteria. The parking was secure but so very oddly placed. When you pulled up to check in at the desk you were past the gate for parking. Now your option was to exit and make two lefts to get back in on a decently busy road or back up to get to the parking gate. Again that said it is gated and secure which I definitely appreciate. Overall they did a nice job updating the hotel and in a pinch we would use it again to see something at PPG arena. Uber was 15-20 both ways and took less than 10 min. It is walkable however not knowing the neighborhood we felt the Uber was just the safer option.

They charge you 22$ for parking after you already paid for your stay. The pool looked very gross with a film of scum over the top. The shower had no hot water. Parking lot full of trash , cigarette's all over. I have stayed at holiday inn IHG for many years. This was the worst stay I have ever had on a vacation. Then I get my bill showed I paid 146$ for room. Then charged me again 22$ for parking and then hit me with a “accommodation charge” of 128$ plus the 100$ security hold on my card. I will not be back to this hotel. Ice machine only on floor 4&6. The elevators are very slow and sound very weak. (Might want to service them)

Stayed here for a wedding and the staff were great! Every location I need to go to during my stay for the wedding was close by like 10-15mins. The room was tidy and very nice and the breakfast was good too!

BUYER BEWARE! Our family needed accommodations in mid-March for a loved one’s surgery at UPMC Mercy. A UPMC Mercy surgery secretary offered this property as a close solution and suggested we inquire about a 'medical rate'. On the first call, Samela (who later identified herself as the GM) was very considerate and seemed genuinely willing to help with our situation. Before booking, we asked if we could call back within 24 hours after confirming plans with other family members. She agreed to hold the $85 rate (plus taxes) for 24 hours, took our club account number, and said she would send a confirmation email. We never received that email. The next day, we called back within the agreed 24-hour window to book three rooms for varying lengths of stay (1–6 nights depending on each family’s needs). At that point, the rate was quoted at $120 per room. When I reminded her that she had agreed to honor the $85 rate if we called back within 24 hours, her response was, “The computer updated, sorry.” She then added, “Once I see what you are ordering, I might be able to give a discount.” Given the circumstances — arranging lodging during a major surgery — reliability and transparency are extremely important to us. The rate change without honoring what was promised felt disappointing and unprofessional. We ultimately chose to cancel the reservation because we did not want our family worrying about potential accommodation issues during an already stressful time. I would also note that a $22 parking fee was not disclosed during the initial conversation, which would have been helpful to know upfront. In situations like this, clear communication and honoring commitments matter. Unfortunately, this experience did not give us confidence moving forward.
