Crystal at the front tried her best she just works here and has to. But this is the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. Tried calling the front 5 times no answer. AC doesn’t work because it’s a boiler system which is crap and the room is hot and they had to bring a fan for the room. Expensive hotel for crap service especially being a Hilton member. Will be cancelling and never coming back. Don’t stay here for anything. Only valet parking. This is the worst experience I’ve ever had and I have traveled the whole country. I brought my brother in law for an experience and I’ve disappointed him especially for the price and the ice machine doesn’t work on the floor!!

Location is very easy to find and access. The only confusion was how to enter the valet parking garage ($39 dollars). It is located on the opposite side of the main entrance, so you do have to go around the mulberry bush and GPS doesn't lead you there. Valet parking attendant are wonderful. They are very personable and explain everything in detail. You receive a link by text to request your car 24 hours and you do have in/out privileges without being charged any additional fees. Front desk staff are very accommodating and extremely nice. They, too, explain everything in detail and also have information available if there are things you'd like to do or see during your stay. The hotel doesn't offer free continental breakfast but there is an on-site restaurant to eat in or have food delivered to your room. Attached to the hotel, just past the front desk, there is an accessible entrance to a 7-11 convenience store. Steve (the owner) is a fun character and has great coffee for in the morning. I stayed in room 1314 and, if I am being honest, wasn't up to standards for the cost (although I can't complain due to having a major discount). The view was nice and overlooked the square. The room was 2 double beds, a chair, desk and chair, end table and dresser, wine rack cooler, large screen samsung tv, hair dryer and 2 cup coffee maker. The reason for the low score on the room are the following: dresser drawers were stuck and wouldn't open all the way and the same with the end table, the towels were stained with some sort of reddish-orange spots, the faucet in the bathtub continually leaked the entire time and when you flushed the toilet it continued to run for a good 5 or so minutes afterwards even though the bowl was filled. Everything in the room was dated and old looking and if you, like myself, are a firmer pillow person, you're out of luck but each bed had 4 pillows, so that was nice. The location of the hotel was great and getting to where you wanted to go wasn't difficult at all. For the rate I had for the room it was fine but if I paid their full asking price plus the incidental fee I would have been extremely disappointed.

Service was so great! The front desk especially DeVaughn was so kind and helpful. However, the room was gross considering what I paid. I prepaid with points so I was unable to downgrade (totally understandable) so we had a king suite. Upon showering my first night the bath tub faucet flew off, there was painted over mold on the ceiling, stains on the couches, crumbs on the floor, stains on the sheets, the microwave stopped working. For what I paid for the room it was so disappointing. It was close to PPG paints which was great, and the restaurant inside was decent. I did opt to receive a call when sent the survey after my stay and have not received anything.

I chose to stay here because of the great rate I was able to find online (less than $80/night) and because it is very close to Union Station. Check-in was quick, friendly, and included a cookie, which I appreciated because my inbound train was late and I was hungry. My room was clean and spacious and afforded great views of downtown Pittsburgh. I did not elect for housekeeping since my stay was so short, but I am confident it would have been adequate if I needed fresh sheets or towels. There is a 7/11 connected to the lobby which is very convenient if you forget any sundries. Also, it is right across from the US Steel Tower, useful if you have business there or simply appreciate a colossal icon of modern architecture. I will note that despite the downtown location, it is a bit of a trek to get to most of the downtown amenities (bars or restaurants) and it is on a very quiet block after work hours, although I did not feel unsafe at any time here or anywhere else in Pittsburgh. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others.

I will never stay in this hotel again. Our room was digusting, and everything else was very unorganized and disappointing. The only redeeming quality was the proximity to PPG Arena, which was just a short walk away. Check-in is at 4, which is later than most hotels I've stayed in. A little disappointing, but not a huge deal. We had to leave for an event at 6, so that would've given us about 2 hrs to get ready. We knew we had limited time, so I signed up for the option to get keyless entry to our room, which claimed we wouldn't have to stop at the desk. After a 5 hour drive, we arrived at 3:50. We should've had ample time to park and get our bags ready to go inside for 4pm check-in. Instead, we were greeted with a long line backed up all the way to corner to get into the parking garage. It wasn't until 15 minutes later (when we got to the front) that we realized we were waiting for valet parking. We did not want valet parking, so we were directed to another parking lot that is not even part of the hotel. We then proceeded to drive around for an additional 20 minutes trying to find the parking lot. We were starting to get frustrated and decided to just go back and do valet, but when we got there, the parking lot was full. So we had no choice but to keep looking for the other parking lot. Once we finally found it, we had to carry all of our luggage down the streets of Pittsburgh to get to the hotel, which was about a 5-10 min walk away. When we finally got to the hotel, I noticed that the key on my phone still said they were preparing our room. So, even though I opted for keyless entry, we had to stop at the desk anyway. We didn't end up getting to our room until 5pm, even though we arrived an hour prior. This left us with only an hour to get ready. However, the disappointment didn't stop there. Once we opened the door to our room, we were immediately hit with the smell of mold/mildew. The smell was terrible. In any other circumstance, I would have immediately asked for another room, but we were already running an hour behind schedule... so we decided to stick with that room so we could get ready. We unfortunately did not have enough time to do everything we wanted to do before leaving for our event, so we had to rush/omit things from our to-do list. Some things worth noting that were not up to standards with our room (besides the smell) included: ▪︎ White dust, (or more likely MOLD) surrounding the entire perimeter of the carpet in the room. ▪︎ The bathroom smelled absolutely disgusting, and did not look clean. There was so much built up gunk in the corners, the walls, floor, etc. ▪︎ One side of the toilet paper holder was practically falling off the wall, so it was crooked and annoying to maneuver. ▪︎ There was no fridge. This was pretty disappointing because we packed food/drinks for our road trip that we wanted to keep cold, especially considering that the room obviously had a mold problem. We ended up throwing most of it away. ▪︎ The desk had sticky stuff on it like it was not thoroughly wiped down. ▪︎ The windows were super dirty, to the point where you could hardly get a clear view out of them. ▪︎ Massive stains on the upholstered furniture. ▪︎ The room also just had an overall musty, dingy feeling to it. The walk to our event was great. It was a very moderate, scenic walk. Only took us a little over 5 minutes to get to the arena. After our event, we were not looking forward to get back to our room. Which is unfortunate, considering we paid $240/night for a room we didn't like or feel comfortable in. Check-out was easy, except for having to carry our luggage all the way back to the parking lot. We still ended up having to pay $20 for parking. Overall, I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. Next time, I will just pay a little bit more per night to have a better quality experience.
