Currently undergoing renovations (Jan '26), it's nevertheless got a very chill vibe. Right by Penn.

Under renovation. Fire alarm at 7:30 AM. No one other than the guests seem to care. Seems like it could be a nice place.

The alarm went off for a "precautionary reason" and they never even apologized. The lady at the desk looked offended when I asked for a refund. I was outside in my pajamas at 7 AM when it was 29 degrees and snowing. She said the manager will be calling. A review will be updated if/when we and all of the other guests get our refunds.

It seemed like a pretty good hotel until there wasn’t any hot water in the morning. I ran the water for about 10 minutes before calling the front desk. The front desk attendant told me that the hot was out, that they were trying to repair it, and that there was no estimate as to when hot water service would resume.
I understand that bad things happen sometimes but if hotel charges over $200 per night, the absence of hot water plus no offer for any compensation for the hassle justifies a very low star rating. Hilton usually does better, but not this time.
Update: Hilton did provide me with 20,000 points which is about $100 of compensation, so I’ve raised the review to 4 stars. No hot in the morning is still a pretty big negative, so it’s not possible to give a top review.
In the plus side, the gym at the hotel was quite nice. It even had a sculpture by the American artist Joe Brown, who was a Philadelphia native. As the photo accompanying this review shows, some other guest apparently believed the sculpture was not quite modest enough and added a humorous alteration without causing the work any damage. I chuckled.
