Breakfast is served really well but they don't clean the rooms everyday and you have to request a room clean or they won't clean your room. They didn't make the beds even after we requested cleaning, they only cleaned the restrooms. They told me that they only clean the rooms every other day, which is ludicrous. Your service deps on who you ask, sometimes they are nice but if you meet the mean lady, she will give you bad service.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn location this past weekend for HiJinx Festival at the Convention Center. Overall, it was a decent experience with just a couple of things I wish had been different. First of all, the location was GREAT for this event - right around the corner and maybe 5 minutes to walk to the entrance. The front desk employee I worked with was very kind and upbeat, and check in was smooth. As a place to sleep and store my things while attending an event, this hotel did the trick. As for what could have been better: ** They have three elevators, one of which was out of order all weekend. Two elevators would seem sufficient, except they move at a snail's pace and honestly felt a little rocky. With all the ravers in the building, it took forever to get an elevator called. ** I had a room with two queen beds, one of which squeaked quite a bit - that didn't bother me too much, but I could see it being an issue for someone else ** The TV didn't work when I first got into my room, because apparently they're switching televisions and missed the entire fourth floor. It took a while but a maintenance guy came and replaced it and he was very nice. The only reason I'm marking this in the "things I wish were different" category is I was so tired and wanted to take a nap before the event started, but didn't get to because of how long it took for him to come. He was busy and it wasn't his fault, but the TV thing shouldn't have been an issue in the first place? ** The biggest thing for me was that this hotel does not offer any down alternatives for bedding / pillows. I have a bird / feather allergy and even after putting multiple pillow cases over the hotel's pillow cases (I always bring my own), the feathers still were poking through and causing an allergic reaction. I called down to the front desk and the first gal I spoke with gave me a small attitude and told me they don't have anything else, I should just put a blanket over the pillows to sleep. Because of her attitude, I tried to talk to someone else while I was downstairs a few hours later and got the same answer (though he was much nicer about it). I know that feather allergies aren't COMMON common, but they're not uncommon either. Not having an alternative is crazy to me. Thankfully there was an extra blanket in the closet and it worked, but it wasn't very comfortable and I was always worried the blanket would move in my sleep and I'd wake up with breathing problems. The room was generally clean and worked for our needs, with a decent sized mini fridge and microwave. The staff was usually very nice whenever we crossed paths. We never tried the breakfast in the mornings and really didn't spend much time in any of the other hotel facilities, so I can't speak to anything else in that way. It was really fun seeing all of the other festival goers throughout the halls, which made the experience better than it would have been without them. Would I stay here again? Maybe. If I brought my own pillow and it was for a short time only. But overall it wasn't a BAD experience just a meh one.

Adding a star for the excellent staff and the rooms still using a real bathroom door. 2/3 elevators were out during our stay. The shower forces you to stand under the shower head to turn on the (cold) water. Two conditioner dispensers instead of a shampoo and conditioner.

Pretty decent hotel in Center City, consider you're real close the the PA Convention Center, real close to the Broad Street Line, and Jefferson Station for Regional Rail. The outside parts could be a bit better, they feel a bit sketchy especially at night. But for the rooms and service, they were excellent and typical for a Hilton property, only gripe was that there were only two towels for a two queen room. Free breakfast too with a pretty good selection, waffle makers with several toppings as well, coffee and water all day/night too.
