We love staying here at the embassy suite in Philadelphia because there's a Ruby Tuesday a few blocks away as far as the ambiance is just a basic hotel no thrills but it's a pleasure service in staff they have. I never got my American Express goodie bag in my room at all as I requested it at the front desk they had no clue other than giving me a bottle of water

I will start off by saying our room was clean and no issues arised with it. The evening reception was ok for free but lacking quality for a Hilton property. Guests were able to receive 2 drinks (beer or a premade punch) and some cheese, crackers and hummus served on paper plates.
The negatives:
A group of 10+ children with no adult supervision were running the halls screaming and staff did nothing to stop it or attempt to notify the parents.
A server ate a French fry off a plate (he was hidden behind a pillar and we only saw him because he was reflected in a mirror) and then served it to the guest.
Rooms are not sound proof well enough for the atrium style layout of the hotel. We could hear people talking and/or walking the halls at all hours of the night.
The front desk workers gave limited information regarding the gated parking lot. I paid for the stay and play package which let me park in the lot for the duration of my out-of-state trip. When first arriving we could not get into the gated lot even though the instructions in the app said to use the digital room key at the lot kiosk. I went inside to ask how to enter the lot and the front desk worker said they were having trouble with the digital room keys accessing the parking lot kiosk. How about a call/text/email or even put a sign on the kiosk that notifies guests of that issue before arriving!? It was 15° and not enjoyable having to walk in/out for something that could be easily rectified.
After parking the front desk worker gave me no instructions on if I needed to put a pass on my car since I’d be leaving it there for 4 days. She said they’d handle it out when I checked out the next day. Checkout for us was 4:30am and I was planning on using the app for checkout. So now I’d have to go to the front desk at 4:30am instead.
We waited a few hours and went back to the front desk and spoke with a different worker who at least gave me a parking pass to put in my car that listed my date of return.
I also asked her about the shuttle to/from the airport which she said ran every 30 minutes and to call when back from our trip so we could get picked up.
The next morning I inquired one more time about leaving my car because it didn’t seem like enough info was taken. This front desk worker had me fill out my name/plate#/date of return info in a binder. Why was this not done when I first inquired at check in and then again later that night? It took 3 different workers to give me the full info.
The front desk workers need more training on hotel policies and communication with guests.
When arriving back from our trip I called for the shuttle and was told they were already on the way. 20 minutes went by and no shuttle so I called the hotel again and the worker said she’d call the driver to find out his status. Instead of her taking my number to call me back I had to call her again 5 min later. She told me he was already on the way back to the hotel. I told her to forget it and I’d take an Uber instead. $25 and 45 minutes later we finally arrived back at the hotel. After getting to our car we try to exit the parking lot but since the room key was no longer active the gate wouldn’t open. Once again, I had to go inside and ask how to get out of the lot. The front desk worker said to press the help button and he’d let me out.
If you’re debating staying here since it’s close to the airport, don’t. There are plenty of other hotels on the same road. If you do stay here do not rely on their airport shuttle. Park at the airport long term lot or use one of the 3rd party lots. It would be much faster and less of a hassle since this hotel obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing.
I will never stay here again.

Our stay was extremely disappointing, both from a maintenance and customer service standpoint.
During the stay, my son noticed the bathroom ceiling was actively leaking in an area that had clearly been patched previously. It was unclear what was leaking—water, waste, or something else—which is obviously concerning. He reported the issue to the front desk while leaving for the day and was told it would be taken care of. It never was. They were not moved to a clean, non-leaking room, nor was the issue addressed during the stay.
After the stay, I received the bill and found two separate smoking/damage fees charged to the room. Initially, I assumed this was related to the leaking ceiling. When I called the hotel, I was told the charges were a billing error, and that the property had been experiencing issues with incorrect charges being added to guest bills. I was told a manager would issue a credit.
When no credit appeared, I contacted the hotel again and was given a completely different explanation—that the charges were for smoking or vaping in the room, allegedly supported by a sensor. I immediately disputed this claim and requested documentation or evidence, especially given that the explanation had already changed once. I specifically asked whether this was truly a billing error or whether verifiable sensor data existed.
The manager stated she would send me a copy of the report. That documentation was never provided. When I followed up again, I was told the hotel could not share the report “proving” vaping occurred, with no clear explanation as to why this evidence could not be disclosed. Despite repeated requests, the hotel has refused to provide documentation or issue a credit for the disputed amount.
Even if legitimate proof existed—which has not been provided—the charges are excessive. The hotel’s own website states a $300 smoking fee, with no indication that the fee can be charged multiple times during a single stay. These unsubstantiated fees total more than the cost of the stay itself.
In the end, it felt like collecting fees was a higher priority than addressing a leaking bathroom ceiling or taking care of the customer. My interactions with staff and management consistently felt adversarial, as though “winning the argument” mattered more than resolving the issue fairly.
I would strongly caution future guests.
follow-up comment
Unfortunately, it felt as though there was little interest in addressing or resolving this matter until it was made public. I remain open to a reasonable, two-way conversation to reach a fair resolution. If that is something you are willing to pursue, you have my contact information and are welcome to reach out.

After waiting over 45 minutes for the shuttle from the airport (which is supposed to run every 1/2 hr), we got to the hotel and our pre-request for 2 adjoining rooms (which Hilton advertises as a key feature) was ignored and we only had one room. The one staff on duty cleaned and prepared an additional room as we waited another 50 minutes for it to be ready. Our keys then didn’t work and there was no desk staff for almost 2 hours to assist. What a terrible experience. Photo is of a smoke detector on the counter with no batteries.

This place is about as low budget as it gets. I have NEVER stayed in a worse Hilton property. The rooms are old and run down, the staff doesnt care. The people in the room next to us were smoking, in a non smoking hotel, and the smoke was traveling into our room. We went downstairs twice to seek assistance and nothing changed. The first time they sent security, the second time the front desk person dismissed us and said he knows them and they wouldnt smoke....completely dismissing us. So, we barricade the bathroom with towels and didnt use it. I am so disgusted. Our room reeks of smoke, its 11pm and people are screaming in the lobby. DONT stay here.
