I led a group on the Paris, Munich and the Alps trip. We had originally wanted to go on a similar trip that would have had us in Italy first, then Munich and the Alps, but our group was too small to be on its own and there was no one else taking that particular tour. Switching to Paris wasn't a bad thing for the group as a whole, but as a Latin and Italian teacher, it broke my heart a little. Paris was very busy and didn't allow for a lot of time at the Louvre. We only drove past Notre Dame, but we did visit the Luxembourg Gardens. Eiffel Tower tickets were sold out, but the Arc de Triomphe was a good alternative. Lucerne was wonderful, as was Munich. Neuschwanstein Castle was amazing, as was Nymphenberg Palace. Afterward, as a group, we decided that we have preferred 2 nights in Paris and 3 in Munich and/or Lucerne. Hotels were all really nice, food was all excellent. Our bus driver was phenomenal, and our tour guide was knowledgeable and multilingual.

This was my third tour with CHA and my second tour with Lance Shippey as my tour director. His local knowledge in every single city (Paris, Lucerne, Munich, and the tiny country of Lichtenstein) is unparalleled! The itinerary was phenomenal and the hotels were fantastic. CHA puts you up in air-conditioned city-centered hotels which is an absolute MUST for European summer travel. The locations, especially in Lucerne were prefectly situated for some evening exploration. We added several optional excursions which Lance was able to seemlessly fit into the itinerary. He even squeezed in visits to the famous Montmartre Cemetary, and BMW Museum in Munich. When I asked if he knew of a good place to buy an authentic German dirndl dress, he knew exactly where to direct me. I had similar experiences in Italy with the CHA tour director there. CHA has true professionals. I asked CHA if it would be possible for us to get tickets to the top of the Arc de Triomphe (which was not an optional excursion), and they made it happen! I love this company for the one-on-one attention and consistency they give. I will never tour with another company. Exceptional value, my students raved about the whole experience, the food at group meals was very good... I cannot say enough positive things about my tour, my guide, and CHA!
