Room was so disgusting. There were stains everywhere and so many items were smashed. This hotel is infested with stink bugs. Management was rude and inconsiderate of the bugs, claiming it “just happens”. Toilet was filthy. Our dishwasher was full of dirty dishes upon arrival. Also, waited 2 hours for our room to be cleaned.

Big spacious rooms. Comfortable beds and pillows. Recliner in room!! Full size fridge and kitchen. Nice large table to work on. Only thing I didn’t like was the thermostat is energy saving so if you aren’t in the room the thermostat shuts off.

During my stay at the Candlewood Suites in Mercer, PA, the staff was polite and the air conditioner filters were clean, which I appreciated — but overall, the room really needed a deeper cleaning. The bathroom was the biggest concern. The toilet seat looked like it had been wiped down with a dirty rag and left with debris on it. The shower had visible mildew buildup and even hair still stuck to the walls, showing it hadn’t been cleaned properly in a while. The shower itself was also partially broken — when pulling the knob to turn it on, barely any water came out of the shower head because it was leaking heavily from the base. On top of that, the hot water took nearly 10 minutes before it finally warmed up. The sink area and cabinet were coated in soap scum and dried toothpaste, making it clear they hadn’t been wiped down recently. The room itself was missing a TV remote, so we had to borrow one from the lobby. The counter under the TV had a thick layer of dust, especially around the edges, showing it hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. The kitchen area was in rough shape as well. The toaster oven was full of old food debris and grime — these really shouldn’t even be in the rooms since they’re hard to clean and can attract bugs. The top of the refrigerator was dirty, and the microwave was also grimy inside and out. On a positive note, the air conditioner filters were clean, which was appreciated, and everything else in the room appeared functional. Overall: This hotel could really benefit from scheduling regular deep cleanings for their rooms and ensuring maintenance checks are done on fixtures like the showers. Even assigning staff to deep-clean a few rooms each week would make a huge difference in overall comfort and cleanliness. ⭐ Rating: 2 out of 5 stars 📝 Needs serious deep cleaning and maintenance, but staff was polite and helpful.
