The walls are paper thin. We stayed on the first floor and could hear every noise and every movement in the surrounding rooms. When anyone walked above us it sounded like a WWE match. To make matters worse, the beds and pillows are not comfortable at all.
We travel extensively and stay at a lot of Hamptons and this one doesn't come close to the brand standard.
I have stayed in Motel 6's that were better.

We had such a great stay! Everything was clean, the environment was welcoming, and the staff was so kind. Britney was especially amazing and helped us out so much after we had a bad experience at another hotel. We’re so grateful and will definitely be back!

I chose this Hampton Inn based on proximity to routes 81 & 322 and for the fact that every hotel in State College was booked. I was upgraded, which was nice but the room is in dire need of refurbishment, especially the bathroom shower. The shower head was coming off of the wall as well as the cold/hot indicator on the spigot. The toilet runs and the heating/AC unit was very loud. Lastly the TV worked, but looked a little junky and lopsided. Water pressure was fine, bed was comfy and overall, the stay was fine. Maybe I just got the “In dire need of an upgrade” room! Also, if you get the one king/sofa room, the closet is ingeniously hidden behind the mirror on the wall 😬

Everything about the hotel was great except for the experience with a front desk staff member who identified herself as “Sara.”
We checked in on Saturday and asked about the possibility of a late checkout at 12:00 p.m. on Monday due to an uncertain hockey tournament schedule and the long distance to the ice rinks. The woman who checked us in (very polite) told us this should not be a problem.
On the day of checkout, Sara advised us that the latest checkout she would allow was 11:30 a.m. She was adamant about this and argued the situation with several parents for approximately 15 minutes. She also stated that the check-in person should never have indicated that a late checkout was possible, even though this is clearly an internal management matter and should not have been discussed with guests.
Later that day, a gentleman at the front desk asked for my room number and confirmed that we were approved to stay until 12:00 p.m. in order to calm the situation. For the record, we checked out at 11:44 a.m.
The hotel itself is otherwise excellent; however, Sara’s attitude and handling of this situation left a very negative impression on many of the parents who were hoping for a late checkout (12:00) due to the tournament.

Recently had an extended stay in this hotel and wish I could give them 10 stars.
The staff is what makes this hotel great! From the manager to the lady in the laundry and everyone in between, I didn't meet one that wasn't pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Many have been there a long time and each credit their manager. They take pride in their work, and it shows.
The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed.
The breakfast is awesome! Wide variety of options, fresh fruit, juices and homemade waffles. My favorite was the turkey sausage as it was always cooked to perfection. The area is clean, replenished and the coffee is always fresh and hot.
An extended stay can get old, but if you stay here, the staff will make it great!
