- BBBSHJan 6, 20265.0stayed here for New Year's Eve celebrations it was just a few minutes from downtown which was awesome, and we easily found parking in the garages. The price was very affordable. The rooms were clean, parking lot was spacious, front desk staff was super nice, and the rooms were small but that is normal for Tru - very minimalistic hotels. I didn't wake up in time for breakfast but everything smelled good!

I understand the policy for cancellations canceling reservations inside of 24 hours. I've been a loyal Hilton customer for over 20 years. I've been booking rooms for my teams for the past few years. I have been able to avoid cancellation fees every time. Most hotel managers understand that these room situations are fluid. My issue is that the front desk person overheard the conversation I was having with my fellow coaches about our room situation. He said, "We can take one off...no problem." No mention of a cancellation fee. I guess he thought I preferred to share a full sized bed with another grown man. I would have definitely taken the room instead of being charged the cancellation fee... which was more than my what the room rate was. They charged me the non discounted (Hilton Honors) rate for the cancellation. Also, when calling in they wouldn't let me speak directly to the manager. I had to speak through someone else.
