First the positives: The staff are friendly, the breakfast was good. No bedbugs (my husband is a home inspector so we check every hotel we ever stay at). All we found was a dead lady bug which we were not worried about.
Room for improvement: When we looked for bedbugs and were happy not to find any, we saw there was dirt, lint and crumbs on the carpet and the chair. There was mud speared on the bathroom door. Both days we stayed there was old shrimp, beer caps, dirty towels, old clothes in the pool area. So it smelled like rotten shrimp in that area. There was never any clean pool towels stocked and the floors always looked dirty. The pool room had water dripping down the walls and from the ceiling, so none of the chairs were dry. The hallway to the gym room had water coming from the ceiling. One of the two treadmills didn’t work. I used the one that worked, however it has a big gash in the walking pad so if someone didn’t notice it and didn’t fully pick up their feet it would be easy to trip on it. The outlet covers were broken and there were bugs in the light covers.
None of these things are deal breakers but it just seems like they don’t have enough help there, and it needs general maintenance.

The front desk staff is wonderful! They will do whatever it takes to meet your needs if they can. The text system is great. We got to our room and shortly after I received a text from Kat telling me to let her know if we needed anything.
Breakfast was good, especially the sausages
The TV remote is a bit unusual and it took a little time to figure out how it works. It would be helpful to have a channel chart but I was told they have been trying to get one from the company for quite awhile without success.

I've stayed here several times a year before and since Covid. The rooms and hotel are getting very dated and worn. The staff the last couple of times hasn't been all that friendly. I planned another stay recently and due to an illness, I had to cancel my stay. I did so several days before my planned stay. I was doing my regular checking of my credit cards and saw that I had been charged for one night's stay before my original reservation date. When I called and asked about it, they said their system shows that I was issued a refund a day after the charge but couldn't explain why I was charged even before the original reservation date because I had already cancelled the reservation days before that. It's been a week, and no refund has yet to be posted to my credit card. On another occasion I had to shorten my stay and was still charged for the days I wasn't there. It took several days to up their corporate ladder to dispute the charges and almost a month to see my refund. Uniontown may be a bit further from the people I visit on my trips but I've not had any such problems with hotels there.
