We booked (and paid for) a 2 queen suite with a pullout couch to fit our large family. After driving 10 hours with our children on New Years Eve, we arrived around 10pm and were told “we don’t have a room for you”. When I asked how that was possible since we pre-paid, we were finally told that while there technically *is* a room available, housekeeping didn’t clean it. They gave me a key to double check and lo and behold, the room was dirty and not ready for check-in. I wasn’t impressed with the lack of cleanliness of the hallways either, but to drive all day long with multiple kids and have had a room booked only to be told to go somewhere else because we don’t have housekeeping here to finish doing their job is frustrating to say the least. Now I’m waiting 5-7 business days to be refunded, and hoping we are also reimbursed our points used as well. It doesn’t make up for the fact that we had to drive 20 miles in the opposite direction and pay $200 more for a hotel that had the space for us on a holiday at midnight. We’re done with IHG hotels because this isn’t the first time we’ve dealt with something like this. Considering contacting corporate because it wasn’t just inconvenient… it cost us a ton of money to change plans due to their own failure.

I travel a lot for work and have to come in and out of these local hotels and this I agree with the other post. It's in dire need of attention and why it smells like cleaner. It's actually not very clean if you look around

Go to a different hotel. I checked in on November 24th very late in the evening and were given a room on the first floor. Went the bathroom to brush my teeth and the sink was completely clogged with black Gunk coming out of the drain when the water ran. Front desk said "I would give you another room on the first floor but they're all that way." They moved us to a room on the second floor & the headboards on both beds are disgusting where people's heads had been rubbing against the headboard over the years. Chunks of greasy vinyl fiber were hanging off of the headboards where the heads rubbed (see attached photos). They had arranged pillows on the beds to cover up the headboards when you came into the room and we did not notice them until we pulled the bed covers down and moved the pillows. Absolutely gross place. Also discovered that I lost a pair of prescription sunglasses between the room changes and of course they have no record of ever finding a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses.
