I travel A LOT for work - typically I leave the home in NY Monday, back at home Thursday evening/Friday....I consider myself to be a road warrior. Home2Suites by Hilton Allentown has DEFINITELY become my home away from home for the last year and a half. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this location and the staff. Loraine, Shawnie and the staff ALWAYS make me feel welcome, they provide a personal touch during my stays, and most recently, when the hotel was entirely booked for a tournament, Shawnie found a way to accommodate me last minute in the most beautiful and spacious room. Just AMAZING customer service! This is the way to retain guests and keep us road warriors coming back. They elevate service, raise the bar, and I wish all of the hotels I booked had the same attention to detail.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, especially if you’re in a group with children. My family checked in late afternoon around 4pm, along with multiple other families. We were all traveling with our 11u baseball team. We booked weeks in advance and confirmed ahead of time that the lobby could accommodate our large group of families. We wanted to make sure there would be a spot for the group to hang out, have dinner and drinks, and relax after a full day of baseball. We were told this was perfectly fine. Just an hour or two after checking in, around 5–6pm, there was a noise complaint. We addressed it immediately and kept the kids in the lobby and pool area, supervised by parents, and made sure to keep the volume down. At 7pm, staff told us there had now been “multiple” complaints from the same individual about one of our rooms which was occupied by a mom and her 4yo daughter at the time. Shortly after, all occupants in that room were escorted out of the hotel by police. We immediately approached management about this. No attempt was ever made to speak with the mom or us beforehand, and the rest of the group was just hanging out in the lobby area. Also, it’s hard to believe that a mom and her 4yo daughter could have made such a ruckus at 7pm to involve the police. In any event, we started asking the staff questions and they ended up kicking us all out by 8pm. If you’re traveling with kids, or are part of a group, I’d suggest staying somewhere else. It’s not worth the stress, and there are plenty of other hotels nearby, like the one we all checked into down the road, that are more welcoming and reasonable.

This past weekend, our baseball team reserved a block of rooms at your hotel. Prior to booking, we specifically asked if there was a meeting space or area where we could gather to watch the Yankees game. We clearly communicated the number of adults and children in our group, as well as our intended activities. We were assured that the hotel had a spacious lobby with multiple TVs suitable for our needs. Unfortunately, things began to go wrong upon arrival. Although we booked the block nearly a month in advance, several rooms were not ready when we arrived after 4 PM—even though check-in is guaranteed by 3 PM. After a long day of travel from New Jersey and playing in a tournament under the sun, this was disappointing. While waiting, I overheard Kimberly at the front desk say, “They’re yelling at us downstairs because the rooms aren’t ready.” This was inaccurate and unprofessional. No one in our group was yelling; we simply stated we would wait in the lobby until the rooms were available. Later that evening, around 7:30 PM, the adults were seated at one table in the lobby watching the Phillies game, while the children were quietly playing cards at another. Kimberly approached us, claiming our children were running through the halls. We were surprised, as all the children were accounted for and seated. She then said she had received five complaints from Room 203 and that the guests in Room 303 would need to leave. When asked if she had personally visited Room 303 to verify the complaints or issue any warnings, she admitted she had not. In fact, the room contained a mother putting her 4-year-old to bed, while two teenage daughters were quietly watching an iPad. Kimberly also mentioned that the guest in Room 203 had been staying at the hotel for over two weeks. Shockingly, the police were called and escorted the family out, which deeply upset the children—especially the 4-year-old. We had asked the front desk to relocate the family to another room, but they refused. We later learned that the same officers had been called the night before for a similar situation involving a mother and her young child, again without any prior warning from staff. As we began gathering information to escalate this matter to Hilton’s corporate office, Kimberly became defensive and called the police on the remaining members of our group. We were all forced to leave the hotel. This experience was extremely disappointing and reflects poorly on the Hilton brand. All of the alleged noise complaints occurred before 7 PM, and other guests were also using the lobby to watch different games. We travel frequently and stay at many hotels each year, always asking the right questions beforehand. This was the first time we’ve encountered such unprofessional and discriminatory treatment. We strongly urge Hilton to investigate the conduct of the front desk staff at this location—particularly Kimberly—for her inappropriate behavior, lack of protocol, and discriminatory actions. Based on this experience, we will no longer be staying at Hilton properties.
