    - Do not take room 128 if you have mold allergies or sensitivities - We arrived around 9 pm this past Saturday night with our kids. When I checked in, I already got a bad vibe from the front desk employee but I brushed it off since it was late. After getting our keys, we walked to the room and immediately slapped in the face with an overwhelming musty scent. So strong my husband was the first to say something before me. I immediately scanned the room and found rust, water damage and mold growth. I walked to the front desk not even 5 minutes after and asked if we can be switched as the room was not safe due to its condition. She said they were booked, so I asked if I could be refunded so we may look for a safer option and she said no. Didn’t even call to ask the manager, she assumed the manager would say no. I told her it was unsafe and welcomed her to go to the room to check. She didn’t come to check of course. I did book third party, so I contacted Chase to discuss our options and inform them of the quality of the room and situation. We ended up checking out just a few minutes after since we have family members with diagnosed mold allergies. We drove our family to the new Hyatt House just down the street and so glad we did. The Hyatt is a world better, the desk employee was amazing, the room was clean and air quality was great. We were very upset with his Holiday Inn treated our situation. Chase will be escalating our case and we hope to receive our refund.

    I cannot believe what I witnessed at this hotel. Two groups of people while I was there were given room keys for rooms and when they went to their assigned rooms there were other people in one room and the belongings in another. Can you imagine. First time I thought okay accidents happen but two times in less than 24 hours! Rooms are okay, pretty standard. There were so questionable stains on the carpet.

    Decent hotel overall, what you'd expect from this price range. I was in one of their suites with a kitchenette for 6 nights. Nice area with access to most of what you'd need. I'm going to explain my 2/5 stars for Service and call out two front lobby workers. I was there for 6 nights. On my last night, we ran out of the pack of water we bought, so I went to the lobby to get a couple bottles. I examined the price sheet posted on the fridge and grabbed two of the big Smart Water bottles. They were listed at $6. I took them to the young lady working (late Monday night, 9/29) and she rang me up for $21.20. Hmm. I asked her how much they cost, and she said $10. I pointed out that the paper says $6 but that maybe it's outdated or for a different bottle? She said that's for the smaller Dasani bottles. I again pointed out that the paper says "Smart", but OK... it's close to midnight and my wife is thirsty. The next morning, while we're getting ready to check out, I ask the young man working how much the Smart Water costs. He says $6! I tell him "ah, the lady last night charged me $10." He was shocked, "For real?!" I tell him yeah I paid $20 for 2 of them. I asked him if it'd be alright if I just go ahead and grab a third bottle, since I had paid $8 extra. His response? "Oh, well I wasn't here last night so I don't know if you could be lying." Really? I've been here 6 nights and bought one thing and you'd rather say that than just make my morning and trust me and let me get another water? This same guy, on my second night, I told him my safe wasn't working and that the batteries were probably dead. He told me that's not him and it's a housekeeping thing. "Ok so I should just tell them myself in the morning...?" "Yeah." I guess that's fair, but honestly I expect the front desk to be my main point of contact. Take a note about it, tell me you'll inform housekeeping. I know I interrupted whatever he was watching on his phone, but have a bit of cheer and a higher standard of customer service. I'm waiting to see if IHG sends me a survey so I can put these notes for management, otherwise I'll email corporate directly.

    Room had an extremely musty smell and feel to it. Additionally, I had accidentally left my kindle in the room. I called and at first was told it hadn't been found. I asked them to check again and then they found it... This hotel is 2 hours from my home, but luckily my friend was working 45 minutes away in the area. I let the employee at the front desk know that my friend would be there around 8:45 pm to pick it up and she confirmed. My friend drove 45 minutes out of her way to do so, just to be told that there was no kindle and that the manager would not be there until 11 pm. We called the next day and, despite our best efforts, the hotel forced us to pay shipping to get the kindle back to me. Instead they told us that we would have "points" on my account for our next stay. I truly feel this was unfair, especially due to the fact that my friend spent her time and money to retrieve the kindle, a pre-agreed upon arrangement with the hotel employee. And while I understand I am at fault for leaving the kindle in the first place, it doesn't warrant a complete lack of communication and care for your customers. Not that this conglomerate needs my money, but I will not be using those points in the future. Helpful customer service should not be so difficult to achieve. However - I will say the breakfast sausage was delicious, lol.
