  Bed was great, checkin was quick and smooth and the free breakfast was terrific. Will stay here again!

  I noticed my window open as it was starting to get dark and could hear the homeless breaking bottles, and yelling. Homeless tents outside window. The window was stuck, couldn’t close it. I asked the front desk and said I felt unsafe with my window open all night. The woman tried just talking me into staying. She said, “there’s nothing we can do, we’re fully booked. They harmless, it only one night then you can go check out in the morning. I’ll have him look at it but it only one night they harmless.” And kept repeating herself very rudely and assertively. I packed my things, and she said, “Oh well I can move you to next room, but that’s it. He can look at it for you.” I told her I already packed because she said she couldn’t move me. And she raised her voice telling me to just go then, and don’t try getting a refund cause no one was there. Not to mention the room was nasty, the shower head was broken and fell on me hit my head and arm HARD. And when I went for breakfast at 9 (serves til 10) it was empty. The breakfast attendant was rude and complaining told a woman it was closed get out and started packing up and shut the door. Then started complaining to another employee that I had a “giant cup” and probably took all the water and coffee. I had one small cup of coffee….

  I usually stay at the Pony Soldier at least a couple of days on my trips to Portland. I find it convenient, reasonably priced and clean. I read a few negative comments on here. I can't speak for those people but I can say I've never had a bad experience here other than during a severe windstorm once but I surely can't hold the staff accountable for an act of nature. I've always had clean, well kept rooms. The staff has always been courteous and helpful. Like I say I can't speak for others but my experiences here have all been positive.

  Smelly rooms and staff was very pushy trying to get me out even though I was still inside the allowed time window (11am to 12pm). Called and asked me specifically how many minutes I'd take to check out.

  Frühstück mit Papptellern und Plastebesteck ist ein no go!!!! Jeden Tag das selbe, keine Auswahl, der Servicekraft kann man die Schuhe besohlen, sieht von alleine nicht das die Tische und Stühle beschmutzt sind. Geht lieber Rauchen. Der Boden mit Essensreste befallen, wird nicht weg gemacht. Die Zimmer werden leider auch nicht gründlich gereinigt, Staubschichten auf den Schränken. Staubsaugen fällt in den Ecken eher aus. Flurgänge schmutzig. Sehr laut vor dem Hotel. Schade für so eine große Hotelgruppe. 14 Tage Urlaub machen in dem Hotel ist leider nicht zu empfehlen.
